Anybody tried to trade this in? Will Gamestop take it with '09 being out in two weeks?

They might but you'll get very liitle for it. Traded in mine in smyths about a month back and got about tenner for it.

Sorry, was going by the Gamespot release date (for North America maybe?)

Well anyways, dropped by Gamestop with Rainbow Six 2 and Fifa '08. Was offered €18 and €8 respectively. Interesting thing is, they're selling these in store for €30 and €36 respectively - honestly don't know if they're new or used, wish I did. If they're selling Rainbow Six 2 for €36 new, I'd be surprised.

If we assume that Gamestop can take my trade-ins, pay me €26 and sell my games used for €66, that's about a 150% mark-up on cost price. What really has me thinking though is their offer of a new game for two old ones plus €9.99 (didn't it used to be a new game free when trading two old games?). If they took my old games (which they didn't, cut-off point is €35), and sold them for the above price of €66, plus the €9.99 trade-in fee, then they stand to make €76 from a game that retails for €65 (and costs what at wholesale, €50 max??) which is a 50% mark-up.

Are my maths right?

Pretty much spot on they rip you off big time, its pretty much a waste of time doing it, is there a game trading website or anything for ireland? Or is adverts.ie the best place?

Well the lads here had something going on at one stage....not sure what the story was/is.

Gamespot are by far the worst for trade-ins, maybe try Smyths or Xtra-vision?

GAMESNASH.IE could be worth a look. They did a terrific deal for me on MGS4

I just pre ordered it off play.com for €55. Anyone know if they deliver on day of release or will it arrive a few days after??

Lads I took your advice and went with gamesnash. They offered me a better deal and I just like their attitude. I'll see how it goes then maybe they could go in the sticky?

i traded in Rockband last weekend (got it in argos 10 days ago, the wouldn't take it back on the money back policy) they gave me 30euro for it!!!!! At the same time I traded in 27 dvd's in total I got 54 euro credit or 36 euro cash!!!!
Took the credit wanted a new wireless Les paul for GH. 115 euro in gamestop.

By the way gamestop is the most expensive place in Ireland along with Zavvi for 360 games. i.e Rockband in gamestop 75 euro, Argos 60. Guitar hero 115 in gamestop 100 in argos.

Saw my copy of rockband for sale in gamestop for 60 euro. double what they gave me.
No wonder people flash their drives!!!
