    Im looking to buy shares with my bank aib
    can i just go up to them and say i want this amount of this companys shares and they can buy it for me instead of going through a stockbroker?
    if so how much is this?
    sorry if this is a stupid question

    AIB allow you to buy shares through online banking.
    It takes 2-3 weeks to set up though from what i have heard.

    As above, you can set yourself up with their Online Banking (in conjunction with Goodbody) within a few weeks.

    As far as I know, you can still just walk into a branch and buy shares as well, but I'd imagine the commission is higher on that.
