Maybe I am not understanding it correctly but he siad that there was 12000 new primary school places.I thoguht the amount of children who are starting school has been decreasing for the last decade,ie CAO points going down.

Number of places on courses has also increased in that time though. New courses plus more places on existing courses.

Vat up .5% increase
13.5 % stays teh same
Petrol tax up 8%
I think wine is also going up

air travel tax on all departures of €10

there's also an increase on mortgagte tax relief from 20 to 25 % for the first 2 years. the next band is increased to 22.5% or something like that

Not official, but just did a search and the excise duty on cigs in Ireland is 60% of the cost of a pack.

So, on 7.50 a pack, that means that the excise duty is 4.50.

And if excise duty is to go up by 50%, then that means that fags are going up c. 2.25 a pack.

I'm sure he said that excise duty was going up by 50% and not 50 cent.

its not 10 euro on all departures, its 2 euro for short haul and 10 for the rest
