Just in case anybody would like to catch this it's on British Eurosport from 6.30pm this evening. He beat Selby in the semi, so maybe he's got some form at the moment!

I hadn't even heard of this event. There's no ranking points, so it won't do Doherty's top 16 ambitions any good, but maybe it'll give him some confidence for the UK Championship in December...

I saw the first few frames of the final (2-2).
How did it finish up, Michael?

It ended up 6 - 4 to Ding I'm afraid. Doherty didn't play great in the latter few frames. He made some excellent shots, only to break down on the easiest of pots. Seems to be the way it goes with Snooker players as they get older...

Ding didn't play great either, it has to be said. It was 4 all at one point. This part of the tournement was in Warsaw, in what seemed a very relaxed atmosphere - and they were just playing local Polish people in the first few rounds, so I suppose that wouldn't help their game either.

    Thanks for that.

It did seem a somewhat more informal affair alright (I found the referees black gloves a little odd:)).
I didn't hear anything about the "series". Is it seet to become a gap-filler for players between tournaments (presumably worth a few bob to the winner)?
