Sham 69 singer Jimmy Pursey and talkshow host Robert Kilroy Silk have been linked to the new series of I'm A Celebrity... .

Bosses at the jungle reality show, which begins on ITV on November 16, are hoping to cause controversy with the addition of the punk icon and veteran TV presenter.

According to the Daily Star, producers want Pursey to "cause mayhem" like Sex Pistols star John Lydon.

Comic Ricky Grover and nightclub boss Peter Stringfellow have also apparently been targeted by the programme's bosses.

Other celebrities expected to appear include Esther Rantzen, Chris Eubank, Simon Webbe, Peter Duncan, Emma Griffiths, Candace Bushnell and Georgina Baillie.

    Its back

Surprising, seeing as nobody even knew who she was up until 2 weeks ago. Absolutely patethic. Hopefully this will come and go as fast as possible.

Well i think Emma Griffiths is presenting the spin off on ITV2 with Matt Willis.

Holy ****! I actually recognise more than one name this year!!!!

Rubbish TV, though. Will be avoiding it, and hoping that the "news" radio headlines ánd papers don't do their usual crap and pretend it's worthy of inclusion....

Fecking Georgina Baillie, obviously very upset over the whole Russell Brand/Jonathan Ross thing, not!

I like Ant or Dec and the best bits are funny at times. Nothing like watching spoilt brats eat sheep's eyeballs and kangaroo goolies :pac:

I do think it's so dragged out sometimes though - especially those hour and a half shows:

9:00 Intro showing all the best bits coming
    9:05 A & D introduce themselves - make little jokes.
9:07 Little action from the jungle
9:08 Back to A&D for reaction. Someone makes a joke, the whole camera crew bursts into laughter.
9:10 Time for the bushtucker trial
9:14 Cut for ad break, showing a preview of the person doing the bush tucker trial half way thru.
9:20 Return from ads, showing the same buildup to the bush tucker challenge as was shown already and then the challenge.

and from then on, it's Ant & Dec telling people how to vote for all the celebrities . . going through every number and dragging it out, and then the numbers on how to text - and then the website, and don't forget the red button. I'd say Irish ppl can't vote anyway, seeing we're not alowed on the X Factor.

And then we go to the hut where the celebrities plead with the viewers to keep them in, with the numbers showing at the bottom - showing their best bits in between!!

    I could go on . . . .

A 30 mins highlight show would do the job!!

So depressing seeing old heroes like Bez and John Lydon doing reality shows.

I really will hang myself if Morrissey, Ian Brown, Johnny Marr ever end up on one.

Will be worth watching to see Emma Griffiths in her bikini.

Although Chris Eubank could be good value if he's on it.

If Kilroy is on it Harry Hill will have a field day. :D

Oh please, please, please let him be on it!

Joe Swash has signed up for the forthcoming series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

The former EastEnders actor, who played Mickey Miller in the BBC soap, will head to Australia this week ready for the programme's launch on Sunday.

"For years he was at the centre of the London party scene and TV bosses are hoping he'll spill the beans on some of his famous conquests," said an ITV source.

The show will be Swash's first television job since he was axed from EastEnders in February.
Boxer Joe Calzaghe's girlfriend Jo-Emma Larvin is reportedly in talks for I'm A Celebrity.

The former glamour model, 27, attracted the attention of ITV execs after appearing on All Star Mr And Mrs with Calzaghe earlier this year.

Larvin is currently supporting her partner ahead of his latest bout at Madison Square Gardens in New York, but according to the Daily Star, she will fly out to Australia after the fight.

I think that after about 3 days Martina Navratilova will be crying

"I’m A Celebrity who the f**k are these people Get Me Out of Here"

ITV has confirmed the lineup for this year's series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Esther Rantzen, Robert Kilroy-Silk and former Blue singer Simon Webbe are among the ten contestants heading to the jungle for the eighth series of the reality show.

Joining them will be WAG Carly Zucker; tennis icon Martina Navratilova; TV presenter Dani Behr; ex-EastEnder Joe Swash, former Deputy Assistant Commissioner for the Metropolitan Police Brian Paddick; glamour model Nicola McLean and Heroes and Star Trek actor George Takei.

Speaking about her decision to take part in the programme, Rantzen said: "I have to face the worst, the result might be abject humiliation, the end of a career... I might be provoking a terrible response from those near and dear to me, who will never again be able to look me in the eyes because they'll so want to say I told you so."

Kilroy-Silk revealed that he expects to cause trouble in the jungle, saying: "My wife would say I'm difficult. My daughter would say I'm difficult. My son would say I'm difficult. So I assume I'm difficult."

Ant and Dec will return to host I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, which kicks off this Sunday on ITV1.

Its a facinating line up (no I won't be watching!*) Quite what Martina Navratilova or Ezster Rantzen are doing on it I dunno.

    Mike

*I might watch it when Nicola McLean takes a shower.

The I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! contestants have been split into two separate camps after going head-to-head in their first challenge.

Show hosts Ant and Dec surprised the celebrities on their first day by revealing that a trial would take place before they even set foot in the jungle. The result would determine the quality of camp life for each contestant, with one location offering more comfort than the other.

With the contestants already divided into two teams, one celebrity from each group was required to represent their squad by taking part in a Trauma Tank challenge.

After much discussion, former EastEnders actor Joe Swash was picked to play for his team, which also features Brian Paddick, Dani Behr, George Takei and Martina Navratilova.

Meanwhile, ex-Blue singer Simon Webbe was chosen by Esther Rantzen, Carly Zucker, Nicola McLean and Robert Kilroy-Silk to represent their own group.

The task saw both contestants being challenged to gather more stars than their opponent by searching through holes in a large tank containing rats, eels and scorpions.

I have a feeling that Joe Swash could be voted in for a few trials as he was hilarious at the first one :D

I'm a Celebrity get me out of here!

If the last person left in there is the winner, then why call it the above? Are they not supposed to want to be kept in, to actually win :D

    I thought it was ok.

The breasts on yer one(cant remember her name), Phwoar! - Not esther ranson in case your wondering.

George Takkei was a surprise. Even at 71 he oozes class, and unfortunately outclasses almost everyone else there. BTW I never knew he was gay. Makes sense though.

Though you have to admit I'm a celebrity way out does that colin and tarzan show on RTE.

I actually enjoyed watching it last night! Joe Swash screaming like a girl was quite funny, and he didn't try to hide it afterwards either. The Home camp seem all very chilled out. God love the other team with Kilroy-Silk. What a nob. Hopefully the viewing public will make him do plenty of disgusting tasks.

This show lost its appeal to me about 5 years ago...In saying that Carly Zucker is a burd

How on earth do they eat that stuff.
Fair play to Nicola, she did well. I could never do it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,005 ✭✭✭Ann22

Martina's mad full of herself isn't she? Last night she raised her eyebrows and questioned Joe's comment about her being one of the best tennis players of all time. 'One of the best?'. Then tonight, more self praise. Don't think she's joking.
That chinese fella from Star Wars, bless him... he's 71, I'd say the journey out there alone must've taken a lot out of him and Esther's not too far behind him. Fair play I suppose.
Kilroy's being a bit of a d*ck isn't he? Even his comment last night expressing his displeasure at not being with the group he preferred, not nice. Ah well a bit of a sh*t stirs no harm for our entertainment:).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,662 ✭✭✭magnumlady

    Poor old Joe...:D
I reckon Kilroy will walk soon. He's a pain, very full of himself, like a male version of Martina;)

its a fcuking disgrace that kilroy silk is on it in the first place, he is an MEP for the love of god, how is that right that he can justify going on that show, he should be voted out and made resign, if that was an Irish MEP there would be uproar.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,588 ✭✭✭JP Liz

    No voting in ROI

Has that always been the case? I could have sworn i voted last year or previous year

No voting in ROI for X Factor also

yeah def Irish voting allowed last year.

Looks like "Mickey Miller" from Eastenders is going to be voted to do all tasks like Janet Dickenson last year - cause its such a laugh to watch !!

Dec Donnelly has become very follicly challenged lately. During a shot with a camera behind the two lads and panned from above, the back of Dec's head was purposely scrambled on screen but clearly there was a bald patch visible through the pixilation.

It was when they were talking to the first camp about who was getting nominated for the next challenge.

Dani Behr reckons she might be pregnant and could have to quit the show.
The TV star has been vomiting for the past 48 hours and has complained of feeling dizzy and faint.

Producers are sending a pregnancy test into the camp to see if she is expecting. Yesterday, Dani, 34, who is married with two children, confided in her jungle pals she thinks she is pregnant.

The babe said: “I feel bad. I hope it isn’t morning sickness.”

Bosses would not want her to put a baby at risk if she is pregnant.

And last night, when the Daily Star broke the news to her husband Carl Harwin, who lives in Australia with their children Coco, three, and Zane, 18 months, he said he “was not surprised” by the revelation.

But he pleaded with ITV bosses to allow Dani to do a pregnancy test in private so she could know for sure.

Carl said: “It’s obviously a shock to hear this news but it is not completely surprising.

“Obviously I had no idea she said this on the show because I am in Sydney and they are not broadcasting the series in Australia so I can’t follow it.

“But for her own piece of mind it would be best if the producers allowed her to take a test.”

Dani will be gutted if she has to leave the show as she was hoping her appearance would re-ignite her TV career.

Last night a show spokesman said: “Dani did make a comment in the jungle about morning sickness. But some of other campers have also been feeling queasy. Dani has not told us she thinks she might be pregnant.”

    more drama for the show

Timmy Mallett and singer David Van Day have joined I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

Children's TV presenter Mallett was first into the jungle, but became caught in a net when he tried to pick up a cake from the ground. Ex-Dollar star Van Day entered next and was soon trapped in a net of his own.

"I'll get you Mallett, you prat," Van Day shouted. "I came in thinking this was going to be easy."

The captives were later placed in the jungle prison while the show's other contestants were informed of the situation.

The existing campmates were told that they can ease Mallett and Van Day's predicament by either giving up a luxury item each or relinquishing two stars.

I suppose Joe is the obvious favourite to win. I thought Brian looked like a possible winner. But paddy power thinks different. I was suprised to see him bottom of the heap at 66 to 1

David is certainly making the camp interesting

I cannot stand Kilroy but what he went through tonight was horrendous and he just got stuck in without complaining. Timmy Mallet was a right pain in the ass cackling throughout the task and annoyed Kilroy.

The bit with the rats yuck. I had to cover my eyes for that bit.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,737 ✭✭✭BroomBurner

I loved Timmy Mallett's laugh! It was great, really infectious laughter from Timmy Mallet's Mallet! Hahaha
Well done Kilroy-Silk, never thought I'd want to utter those words.

Kilroy is strong minded and made the last task look so easy even with a snake up his shorts but its a pity he has no sense of humour. Prefer Joe to do all tasks or maybe Mr Mallet.

Really not liking Nicola McLean, she's a tad too b*tchy.

Fair play to your man doing the trial, v entertaining, hard trial to do if you're claustrophobic and scared of the dark!
