Flatbed scanner for 59.99. It says it includes a slide cap for negatives or colour slides. Does anyone know if this would produce halfway passable results for scanning negatives? I'm desperately looking for a way of reducing the cost of shooting film.

I'd say almost certainly not. It does depend on what your definition of 'halfway passable results' is. If you just looking for something to scan for the web then I guess it might be up to it. If your looking for something that'll get all the information out of your slides or negatives for good enlargements then it probably won't do the job.

Pretty much what D. said - It depends on how much you want out of your negs. These days, €200 upwards will get you a decent enough scanner, which might be worth thinking about.

My scanner does a good job on negs with a similar resolution, but regardless of resolution, without some kind of non software dust removal it'd be an absolute nightmare to scan for anything but small prints.

It's also worth noting that I did spend over 4 times as much on my scanner 8 months ago.

The picture of that scanner makes it look like there are two separate parts, I can't figure it out at all.
