Which skincare brands do you use?

I have been using Clinique for years but I have noticed my skin is in a bad condition from using their harsh ingredients so I am wondering what I will change to..

What do you use and what do you recommend?

I don't use expensive brands so i say i am mostly "Boots" kinda girl.

The face cream i am using at the moment is Johnson's 24 hr moisturiser cream and they do suit my skin as they are dry.

The body cream i am using is Garnier hydralock which is very good for my dry skin.

i tend to try all the cream and i found that the boots own brand of cream does suit me.

Lancome- love it. It can be expensive but im lucky I have a lot of free samples to use!!

i use clarins - not cheap either but it suits my skin. before that i used to use nivea.

i have tried a few different types of brands and i think you will find that you need to vary your cream/cleanser from time to time and its trial and error to finding the right one

I've just started using that newish brand Yes To Carrots, weirdest name ever but thats beside the point! I'm using their mud mask and day moisturiser and I love it! Heard many good things about them so decided to buy some and I have to say they've lived up to the reviews! My skin is really soft! As far as I know they're all about the naturalness and all that jazz, so could be worth a try! Not that expensive, about €10-€15ish AFAIK. :D

SarcasticFairy i have been using the yes-to-carrots range for the last few months aswell! i have really dry skin and have tried out all the usual products for dry skin(simple, e45 etc.) over the last few years but yes-to-carrots is defintiely the best ive tried. it has made my skin really clear and it practically glows:D

    Dermalogica,
    worth every penny:D
    Ive got very combination skin,
    oily chin,dry cheeks,sensitive eyes
This range uses the same base and you
buy boosters for the specific problem areas.
    My routine,
    Cleanse,tone,moisturise
apply oil control booster to chin
    and eye cream.
Spf is bought as a booster too
so you can choose your strength.

Haha, no! I think the Yes to Carrots name is just in reference to tehir ingriedients and such! I'm a pale-face and always will be! :D Your safe enough so long as your not a fan of the oompa loompa look! :D

Definately good for dry skin, as was mentioned above! Not really sure how it fares on the combo/oily skins!

iv combination skin tho with the harsh weather and heating, it is gettin a lot drier lately

    i use ROC Actif cleanser
La Roche Posay Toleraine fluid moisturiser
For the rest of my extremely dry skin body i use St. Ives - it is so creamy i love it and can get great deals on it in Tescos lately - im stocked up for the year!

I use Clean & Clear oil absorbing face wash, MAC cleansing wipes. Don't use a toner, just freezing cold water.
At night I use MAC moisturelush cream and during the day I have started using Boots Time Delay moisturiser with a hint of self-tan.

I try to do microdermabrasion (Boots time delay) once a week too.

I use Dermalogica too. Special Cleansing Gel, Skin Smoothing Moisturiser and sometimes their multivitamin mask. I also use Clinique All About Eyes. Dermalogica is great, very gentle. But you should go for a Dermalogica facial to findout what products you should use rather than guessing yourself. It says on the boxes that their products are guaranteed when recommended by a specialist (i.e. through the facial).

I used so many over the years, i have gone from using the cheapest on the market like dove soap and clearasil to the most expensive dermalogica and sisley and I have eventually found my product.. Vitamin E from the Body shop. I use the facial wash the serum and moisture mist.

G&T would that salon be anywhere in dublin by any chance?

It's my bday coming up and I want to treat myself.. I had a face mapping done before but yer one was crap and just listed off basically every product on their list for me!! If I had of bought everything I would have had to fork out at least €500!!

Does anyone know of a good face mapper, preferably around north dublin?

I'm a huge Dermalogica fan, have tried lots of other products but always come back to this.
I get my stuff on www.care4yourskin.com
works out alot cheaper and only takes a few days to get the stuff in the post.

I use Garnier Clean and Fresh Cleanser. I find it gets heavy foundation off.

For moisturiser, I use the yellow Clinique one. I also use Estee Lauder Idealist for making my skin smoother under make up.

ive tried the more expensive ones, eliz arden, clarins, clinique, lancome etc. but by far the vest for me had been the simple range, my skin is clearer and softer than it has ever been.

That's mad!! I cannot touch Simple at all as my cheeks, forhead and neck would be on fire!

I have booked in for my Dermalogica facial for next week.. Fingers crossed these products work for me!

I heard of a therapist that the Dermalogica products that you get of website are usually either expired or about to expire or they are fakes...

I am a bit aphrensive buying them now..

Can anyone vouch for this website ??

Agree. I use Simple toner, wash foam, light moisturiser and ROC Retin-Ox cream on top of it. I felt that all these chemical ingredients in more xpensive ranges were doing my skin no good. Simple makes is clear and soft.

I've no experience with this website but I'm quite sure that the therapist had no business in endorsing them

I don't use any high-end products. Just Cetaphil cleanser, Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner, and Alpha Hydrox Souffle. I don't think I'll ever stop using products with Alpha Hydroxy Acids; my skin isn't perfect but it's the best it's ever been.

I love Liz Earle. Cleanse and polish is amazing. If you order a few things together from the website it works out good value too, they always include some freebies.

I looked this up and it said that AHA's come with a sunburn alert...that can't be good!
Sunburn Alert: Product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards..

Yeah, they slough off the first couple layers of skin so your face becomes more sensitive to the sun. Doesn't last forever, though!
