Re Very important photocopied document

    hi i have a computer and a printer attached to it the printer is also a photocopier and scanner. I photocopied this very important document about 6 months ago and now have lost it, I relly need this document so badly I was wonderig does a photocopier store the memory of what it photocopied. The document was not scanned so wont be on the computer! IT WAS JUST PHOTOCOPIED!any help greatly appreciated

    If the printer was powered off or has been used frequently since you made that copy then that image is pretty much gone , I'm afraid .

    Just echoing what the others said. No chance whatsoever that the photocopier retained a copy. If you're sure it wasn't scanned, I'm afraid it's gone.

    Will it not do like a temp scan onto the computer and then print? Or is it all done on the onboard memory of the printer?

    Onboard memory is just for queing as far as I know.. it would be saved to temp on your PC

    If it was a straight photocopy then it's likely the computer wasn't involved in the process at all. You put the page on the glass, press the button, copier scans and then prints. I'd say it's long gone.

    If it does spool, i.e. goes to an area on the computer before it goes to the copier, the default directory for spooling in windowss is
    %SystemRoot%\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\PRINTERS

    but spooled documents are usually deleted as soon as the job is sent to the printer.
