Question on NCT

My car (03 Passat) is going through the NCT test in a few weeks. There is a problem where the boot will not open using the electronic button on the key or the electronic lever on the drivers door. It will however open by physically putting the key into the lock and turning (the old fashioned way!)

Is this problem enough to fail any section of the NCT?

    Thanks in advance.

Its grand my 99golf will only open the boot with the key, the guy had to turn off the car and open it with the key. Not a word said about it.

i'm glad to hear it. can anyone else confirm this.

(I should get it fixed all the same, but I wanna get the NCT out of the way first.
Have tried to fix it by replacing lock mechanism to no joy)

Sure the nct is to make sure your car is safe on the road. As far as i know not been able to open your boot with your remote locking will not kill someone:P

    It's grand, see page 30 of http://www.ncts.ie/nctmanual.pdf

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
