I trust the Gardai have been informed, the ports should be informed. I can't belive anyone would steal one unless they knew they were taking out of the state (unless the thives were random chancers).

Jesus sorry to hear that mate. Maybe stick this up on the main motors thread as well and Octane.ie and Driver.ie etc. It's such an unusual car someone is bound to spot it.

    Guys,
Many thanks for all the messages of support.
Got a call yesterday from the Gardai to say they had recovered the car in the back end of Tallaght.
Went to have a look and its not pretty but al least they didnt put a match to it.
Looks like we'll be off the road for a few weeks as I try and get it sorted.
Initial inspection shows front suspension damage, a set of alloys and tyres to be replaced along with a clutch and some glass, ignition and wiring. Wont know what else is wrong until we get it to a workshop to discover the extent of the damage.

I hope the Gardai get the toerags and sort them out

Once more thank you all for your support and help.
Will keep you updated on teh rest of the saga as it unfolds but hopefully you'll all see it out at some of the shows over the summer.

    oflynno,
If your buddy wont part with them for you perhaps I should try asking him:D
If I get a set what do you need size and fitment???
    Regards,
    StephenB

    Scummers!

Its a pity but I guess this should stand as a lesson - keep a car that might catch the eye of low-lifes in the garage

Hi just read all the above, glad to hear you got the car back, I'm a Reno head myself, I had a lovely black GTA V6 Turbo years ago, loved it, I still have a few old Reno's, if your looking for any bits for your car let me know and I can pass on a few UK contacts who should have all you need to put the car back on the road. Good Luck! YEAH!

Nice to hear that the GTA T is home safe. I have to go along with Mike65 "lock it up". Seen many a GTA go missing because some muppet got a H*RN and decided to steal them. They are beautiful and not cheap to put back together.
    PS:
From past experience don't hang the keys of your classic up with the keys of the lockup / garage. Its the same as leaving it outside.

Important thing is it's back. Before you do any repairs invest in a top end alarm though

Good to see it came back and didn't end up in too many pieces.

Glad to hear you got it back. Hope the damage ain't too extensive but it's a good excuse for an overhaul and maybe be a couple of discreet modifications including an alarm.
