Maybe a little early but just looking to get an Idea of how many people would be intrested in this even if we decide to run this event.

Thinking so far is to maybe have

    400m
    800m
    1500m
    3000m

It's only an idea at the moment and just wanted to see what people think. Guests would be allowed run too ;) depending on numbers of course.

If there are any other events that you think we would get numbers in let me know.

I'm definitely interested. I'll most likely miss it though due to being away skiing altitude training instead whenever it happens.

Shorter stuff would be my preference, the headaches that come with runners being lapped and all in the 5k and 10k.
It would be a great chance for runners of all levels to try sth different and see how they get on. I would possibly prefer a mile than a 1500 as I think that might entice the 5k,10k guys.
I only had a go at a 1500,800 by chance and loved it.
I think we should try get as many names interested and then try and book Irishtown or Santry.

Great idea Shels and I'm sure Charlie of the bhaa would help out regarding timing and stuff.

I guess Dublin suits for most people, but if you wanted to venture south we could organise a track and a 5/10km road route right beside it.

Once our members start to sign up we can decide then, i'd say a high % will be from dublin but we will see. :)

Yes, Athlone. Has a Mondo track. The fastest track surface in the world and first in Ireland (despite Rineanna's protestations). PB's for certain.

www.thewatershed.ie is the venue. It has a 400m track, pool, gym, sports halls and astro's etc. The team there are great and I'd be in contact with them from time to time. It would be good exposure for any facility in the country. No mondo track though...

If you guys are in need of a track just outside Dublin (but accessible from the West and South) and fancy running on grass let me know as happy to support with facilites.

Yeah this sounds like a great idea are we talking just one off or would the possibilty of a race series where one competes in each of the events as a way to balance things out for the speed and endurance guys :D

A series might be a step too far for us at the moment , But you never know .

Ok to restart an old thread. Following our latest board metting this idea maybe a runner. We are looking at a number of options for a BAC race (series).

The options so far maybe to run a 10k CC in the summer similar to last years race( which was a part of the run like an animal 10k) and also to run some sort of Track series .

For all you non BAC runners guests maybe able to run in the track races..

I was thinking of running a number of races ie 800m , 1500m , 3k. Maybe over a number of week.

Any ideas or suggestions please let me know. Once decided we may need go get help from BAC members.
