Who is your most hated TV character?

I re-watching The Shield at the moment. I can honestly say that I've never hated a character more than Lt. Jon Kavanaugh, brilliantly played by Forest Whitaker. His mad quest to expose Vic as a dirty cop shows his dark, twisted and manipulative side. His methods of investigation and his threats are so insidious he just makes your skin crawl.
This quest ultimately leads him to becoming the thing he most hates, a dirty cop.

There are lots of other characters in other shows I don't like but Kavanaugh really takes the prize.

Maybe not my most hated character, that might take some thinking, but since you mentioned the Shield...Shane Vendrell. One of the most annoying and idiotic characters on tv.

You mis-spelled Livia Soprano, there. ;)

Echo (Dollhouse) - just because Eliza Dushku is the worst actress ever. Otherwise Dollhouse is gold.

I hate Lisa Simpson, because without her there would be no preachy whiney and downright patronising "Lisa Episodes" of The Simpsons.

    I hate Lisa Episodes!

I hate everyone in the Simpsons... except maybe Ralph Wiggum, but everyone else I definitely hate. Had the show been cancelled 14 years ago, I might still like some of them...

i also agree with lisa simpson, the preacy episodes of that show downright make my skin crawl.

I didn't like miss dewitt in dollhouse but she grew on me in later episodes so fair play to the actress who plays her(her name escapes me).

I dont like kate in lost, just the character annoys me.

That young religious one in home and away annie is it? I wish that charactr harm daily.

There are characters that you hate just because they suck (Jack from Lost, Meredith from Grey's Anatomy) but then there are characters that you love to hate, and I think that's what the OP may have been looking for.

Someone mentioned Livia Soprano earlier and that's the best example I can think of for a "love to hate" character. She's so malicious, hearltess and downright evil that you despise her, yet she is a fantastic character and was a huge loss to the show following Nancy Marchand's death.

Patrick and Mimi Maguire from Shameless also come to mind - both are absolutely vile dispicable people but their scenes are always thrilling to watch.

Another more light-hearted example would be the legendary C. Montgomery Burns! :)

Buffy's sister is another one. Almost stopped watching the series when she showed up.
