ok it seems nearly everytime i go out in dublin i end up getting with somebody at a club.
and when it comes time to go home they wanna come with me ,the thing is will be living with my parents for a while since im just back in the country and im not taking any of these randomers home .thats just not in the cards.

my question is has anyone ever been out and scored and decided to go get a hotel room on the night , what i really want to know is would i get horrible looks from the staff the "i know what your gonna do " look ,is it actually possible to walk into a hotel at 3 in the morning and book a room and if so where. as it is im spending round 50 euro getting home in a taxi i might as well stay in town get a good nights sleep (well maybe) and a nice breakfast.

    ps
please dont give me abuse i am an adult and i do take care of myself, just because i might go to a hotel room with someone dont mean i have to do anything nasty .

Tell them your car broke down or was stolen, and you're stuck in the city. It happens. Perhaps because you are responsible and dont want to drive your vehicle while drunk.

"as it is im spending round 50 euro getting home in a taxi i might as well stay in town get a good nights sleep (well maybe) and a nice breakfast."

Or that. I mean, if youre drunk and you dont want to drive your car, do you really want to spend 100 euro going home, having a sleep and getting back in to pick up the car? no. ;)

Book a hotel in advance for Saturday night. You might as well pay for that than €50 for a taxi home. I'd imagine if you just turn up at the hotel reception you might be charged more than if you book in advance. A lot of hotels don't include breakfast in the price.

Why the hell would you care what they think?
Thats just a typical case of Irish catholic guilt.

Easy answer to this one is: They. Don't. Care.

I have got a room at the early hours before. You still have to pay for a full day though.

Worked in a hotel for 6 months, and i have to say the senario you suggested was a regular occurance - the staff don't care, they've seen it all before, they are trained to turn a blind eye.
Its still full rate even if you book in at 3am so just plan ahead and you might even get a cheaper rate.

Worked in a hotel for 6 months, well used to seeing our businessmen guests coming in with prostitutes or with women they picked up, nobody really gave a toss to be honest! I only ever felt sorry for the chamber maids who had to clean up the next day!

Remember, put your used condoms in the bin! :D

WOW thanks for these great responses, i think il just go straight in on the night so ,i dont want to book in advance since i would prefare my own bed if i dont score.

Anyone recommend a certain hotel ?

    "Turn a blind eye"?

    What is this, the 1940's?

Hotel staff care about very few things:
    1) Are you a junkie?
    2) Are you pissed enough to fall over?
    3) Are you pissed enough that they'll have to deal with you in any fashion during the rest of their shift for any reason?
    4) Do you have a credit card?
    5) No I don't want cash, you're pissed and you'll probably trash the room.
    6) Give me a credit card.
    7) **** off and don't wake anyone else up.

At 3 in the morning, you're a customer. The only reason you'd have trouble getting a hotel room is if the staff think you look like someone who they might have to run around after later on.

Have done it in the past and paid a fair bit once or twice. Was worth it though :D

Seriously though, there are loads of deals going on hotel rooms now so you could book one and just stay in it anyway if you don't score. It'd be cheaper than your taxi if you really do pay 50euro for that.
If you don't wanna prebook then have an idea before going out where the cheap ones are - don't just end up drunkenly stumbling into the clarence or the like^^^
Defo do it though, it's great being able to wake up and head down for breakfast without having to worry about sneaking some randomer out of your room.

ya be grand. Only thing that will happen is the hotel workers being jealous. Their not gonna stop you from staying just cos your getting a ride.

Id like to say what the staff dont go have one night stands with the guest's because we do :D....

fact is op there not thinking about that there thinking about the end of the shift :)...It's like with going to the chemist and buying packet of condoms they dont really care its a sale because there are far more embarising things you can buy then a packet of condoms
