    Hi,

I recently posted a topic on PI and was advised to possibly consult with the Biology and Medicine board for some information. See this link:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055565914

In a nutshell, I am looking for examples of possible mild health problems that would force somone to give up alcohol for a 6 month time frame or so.

As I'm about to start taking medication for an anxiety problem but do not want to give this as my reason for giving up alcohol.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as I know absolutely nothing about this area.

    Thanks.

Sorry mate. We can't give advice about people's personal medical problems on here.

    Maybe talk to your GP

Medquestioner, I completely and utterly misunderstood what you were asking.

INnmy tired state, i thought you were saying you weren't going to give up booze when you were on your meds.

    Apologies for locking your thread.

Any reason why you can't just say you're detoxing yourself? or just trying out life without booze? giving your liver a rest? Joined the pioneers?

Does it have to be a medical excuse? Invent some symptoms and say you're under investigation, and can't drink cos of the tests...

When a friend was waiting to announce her pregnancy she used to tell people she was on antibiotics, but 90% of the time she'd just get a glass of orange or whatever, pour half of it at the bar, no-one's gonna go sniffing your drink to ensure you're drinking alcohol!
