Just read the email there saying the buildings office are upgrading the bike racks opposite the sports centre, anyone know what they're doing with this? Will it be proper covered parking or more or less the same as it was before? Is this the only place being upgraded or are other areas having work done on them as well?

I heard there'll be a full valet service.

Well according to the email sent out:
In an attempt to avoid damage to bicycles and to facilitate the removal of the old cycle racks, bicycles should not be parked in the cycle parking area opposite the Sports Centre from Monday morning 29 July 2009 until further notice.

...which doesn't really give much of an indication. I'd say the racks will probably be dragged to their new temporary location with bikes still attached.

I've entered correspondence on the issue, pointing out some of the issues, e.g. pigeons and will copy what I receive.
