    iPhone
    + Italy
    + Western Union
    = SCAM

Scamming maths, 101. You've been had, plain and simple. The phone doesn't exist and the tracking number is one they use just to piss you off. That's not a postal service, it's the scammer's own fake courier site.

Wouldn't touch any scrupulous dealings with Western Union or any thing like it especially from Italy. Ebay has banned all this crack a few ears ago.

A lot of eBay sellers won't ship to Italy - it doesn't have a great reputation. Plus it's fairly well known at this stage not to use Western Union in any shape or form

I'll move this thread to the Online Buying & Auctions forum - dudara

Looks to me like he's already sent the money, hence he has a (fake) tracking number. Unless it's supposed to be some sort of COD scan, and now they'll look for "customs" to be paid, or something???

This is the scam bit (in bold). The WU receipt has a Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) which is all they need to get at the money. They can easily bluff if asked for ID. They get your money and you get a sickening feeling in your gut.

Phew, I'm glad to hear the OP didn't send the money. The only comeback you may have is when you've sent the money but the scammer hasn't picked up it up yet. You can get WU to cancel the money transfer and they'll refund you minus their admin fee.

I have sold a few things on Ebay to ebayers in Italy and never had a problem.
Anything with western union I wouldn't touch.
