Druid's Heath timesheet and that 12th hole

It seems that DH may have a few leases available next year, so I played the course for the first time today, off the green tees, just to get a feel for the place. It certainly is long(off the white tees) and difficult, maybe too difficult to really enjoy. The greens are brillant though, it's great not to have what looks like a 3D map of the Himalaya between you and the hole.
Anyway, I was wondering how any members here find timesheet availability during the week, is there a prob with green fees/societies/corporate outings clogging things up, or can you get out mostly when you like?
Assuming that you play the full 461yds of the par 4 12th in your comps, does anyone actually reach the green in 2?
    Thanks, d2ww

Im not a member but have probably played it more times than most members. Indeed, it is long, especially on windy days which are all too frequent up there. But you will find it is not as difficult as you think after playing it a few times.
With regards the 12th- your drive is key here. Just aim a few feet left of the right-hand side bunker and try to make sure that your drive trickles down over the hill so that you can get an extra 20-30 yards roll.
it still sickens me that they cut the tree down in the middle of the 13th. All because some geriatric old farts over in druids glen complained that they could not get their drivers to pass over the tree. Any competent player would simply hit a 4-6iron leaving a short iron to the green. One of Pat Ruddy's great holes destroyed by wealthy dictators.

The timesheet during the week is rarely busy. Although it does fill up quickly for the weekend competitions.
The first time I played the twelfth I hit the green in two with a drive and a long iron. I haven't managed to hit it (and stay on it) in two since. I now take the 'play it as a short par 5' route, grab the two points and run.

Being a "competent player" is the important part here. I will try it again in October off the whites and see if it's for me. I suppose that you do have to accept that there's a few par 4's there that you just can't reach in two. Must remember to bring my sambo's with me though, €19.50  for fish and chips in the cafe is a bit too steep for me.
