Pressure switch

    Hi All

I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get my hands on two items. One is a small electronic Pressure switch. Basically I wanna be able to release stored up compressed air or butane gas with an electric timer. It must be able to work of around 9v of power. Two I am looking for a small unit to store the gas or compressed air in till it is released.

The basics behind it is that I am a nut for a sport called airsoft and have and idea for a game item. As far as I aware there is no product like it on the market at the moment so the only salution is to build it myself.

    Thanks a mill

    Matthew

    Sorry your post is confusing....

So your looking for an on/off pressure switch, that will open/close an electrical circuit at a preset pressure?

Cause you also mention you want to release gases with an electronic timer?

Or do you want some sort of electrical solenoid valve that will run off the timer??

Ummm ok how do I explain this ( one of those mind pictures that is clear in my head but not so awesome in words if you get what I mean)

Say I have gas/compressed air stored in a pressure container, the pressure switch (for the lack of a better word) is on the exit side of the compressed container. When the alarm goes off on the timer it activates the pressure switch and that in turn releases the gas.

Does any of this make sense?

    Matthew

P.s please remember that I aint an engineer I am just trying to build a product that I have pictured in my head.

the timer at the moment is just a normal electronic egg timer that instead on the little buzzer going off I am detaching it and sendin the current to the switch .

You don't need a "pressure switch" as you call it.

You need a valve, an electrical operated valve, but still a valve. These are typically called solenoid valves.

The valve will have to be ratted for the gas & pressure its being delivered at....

What you describe sounds like this,a Timed Electronic Drain Valve, its intended for a slightly different application to yours but should work ok.

its a solenoid(electrically operated valve) with a built in adjustable timer.

    Hi

Speaking from experience, dont use Butane Gas (explosive) might I suggest CO2, alot more power and a fraction of the cost, Butane is a pain in the a$$ with ATEX, EX etc etc, good luck with it;)

Thanks for all the replies folks. Your suggestion are helping me on my way. I will post a pic of the unit if anyone is interested once it is finished. Thanks again and take care.

P.S I have change the idea of butane to CO2 as the whole blow up thing ain't a great idea.
