    Hi,

Heading to Thailand at start of Dec. for a month with 4 friends. Flying to Bangkok & then only plan is to go Phuket by air.

Any tips / advice on how to structure the month in terms of places to go & see would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

If it was me i'd probably do 2 weeks on beaches and 2 weeks trekking up north basing myself out of Chang Mai. I'd do the north first and then relax for the last 2 weeks down south. 6 days on the west coast and the remainder on the east coast if it coincided with a full moon party.

In terms off figuring out place names. You'll find all that out from other travelers. Or just listen to one of the many touts offering tours. Use them only for info as you can do them yourself a lot cheaper or with a reputable company.

You're gunna have a great time. If I were you I wouldnt waste my time with phuket it's a sleazy hole thats full of "brazzers" but I suppose it depends what ur into. Koh samui is alright no more than 4 days is need there, a week in koh phanghan is great the build up to the full moon party,i.e. the week b4, I thought wz btr than the actual night itself. Then Koh tao is pure class it's so chilled there whether u wanna go diving or just do nothing all day and drink at night and if your into sights there's some serious spots there. Koh Phi Phi is gr8 too chilled out as well, and it's from here u get access to "the beach" where the movie the beached wz filmed. One of those things "you have to do" when in thailand. If you're interested in doing a trek then defo head up to chang mai but it nvr appealed to me treking through the forests when I could be on the beach. Hope that was helpful

Samui, Phangan and Bangkok are full of brazzers too. That is if you are trying to go local.
