Anyone else have an exam in the Kingfisher Sports Hall this morning?

    What an absolute farce!

They put up the seat assignment notices only down the very end of the narrow corridor. So there was probably almost 1,000 people trying to get from the front door down towards the back door to see where their seat was. Then there was some invigilator standing out in the hall saying "Come on, get inside now, the exam is starting". It nearly caused a crush! The exam was over 15 minutes late starting because so many people were late getting into the hall (because of the farce outside).

Apparently they eventually copped on and stuck additional notices further up then corridor - but only after half an hour of people struggling to get down to where the single set of notices were.

I was there last May for deferrals, It sounds like the exact same, Big scramble to see the names on the green board. I wonder if it is the same invigilator who kept repeating himself about going in, Very annoying!

There should be notices (with seat allocations) up at both entrances and various points along the corridor. If people can check what seat they are in as they enter the building it's problem solved!

It was disasterous during last summer's exams too, invigilators came back late from lunch so exam hall wasn't ready until just after half two so everybody meant to be in the exam were stuck out in the hall until they finally opened the doors. It was mayhem.

If they put the boards outside it would help somewhat!

Inside, everyone is either putting bags in lockers, putting bags in the bag place, or standing around like a twat instead of going in and sitting down.

Its a bleedin pain! I was ontime, yet ive to sit in the hall 15-20 mins after my exam finishes! Ive had my 2 hour exam, let me go!

I was there for the 2.30 exam and it was a right mess. Purely because the corridor is so narrow and there were so many people blocking the way.Took a long time for everyone to get in and out.Glad I don't have another exam there.

They did have plenty of seat notices up though.

I got to Kingfisher 25 mins before my exam started. Was reading notes just outside for 5 mins, then went in to find out where my seat was and go into the exam hall. Took over 20 mins to get down to where the seat assignment notices were and I was slightly late getting to my seat. I think most people got to the Kingfisher in what would normally be enough time, but the lack of notices meant people were late getting to their seats.

I'm a first yr with my first exam in the kingfisher tomorrow morning! just wondering, can we bring bags and leave them outside the exam hall? and are you allowed bring pencil cases in or are you just meant to bring pens etc in your hand?

stupid questions but a few of us are just wondering!!

you can use the lockers to secure your bag or most people just leave them in the hall or wherever.

bring your pens in your hand, take the cover off your calculator, have your student id with you.

dont bring paper or notes inside the hall and its probably best to get there a few minutes early to find your seat number, they'll be listed on charts on the walls in alphabetical order by course.

    best of luck to ye'all:D

Try not to leave your bag in the hallway, it just adds to the congestion. Use the lockers or the racquetball court. Just bring the pens in your hand. And don't forget your student id! Good luck.
