    Hey,

    Support Staff-
    • Health centre's (Aungier and Bolton st)
    • Councelling Services

    • Info Services
    • The Lovely Porters!
    • Oh and the lecturers:D
Anyone else out there would like to add??

Merry Christmas and thanks for all your hard work...

I have a feeling you are being sarcastic.
Surely the DIT can't do anything right:pac:

    Actually I'm not!

I feel that there are many staff within DIT that don't get the recognition that they deserve!

What better time of year that the present!:)

Thank you for cocking up registrations at the start of the year.
Thank you to one of my lecturers who still thinks I'm not a registered student (keep in mind I paid at the first moment I was able to)
Thank you for having the worst online system known to man
Thank you for having an awful wifi system, despite being ranked 8th in Ireland in the Uni leagues.
Thank you for fupping the budgets up so bad there's no gym.
Thank you for going on strike.

I'm all for good will. And I do appreciate most of the staff in DIT do a great job, but let's be frank here, the last 3 months have not been a good time for students (or most staff, in all honesty). I daren't give them thanks in case they think they've done a good job. This year has been so badly organised that I'm looking to study for my masters abroad.

Also I would like to add thak you for having awful, and awfully laid out libraries (bar Aungier St), and mainly awful library staff.
Thank you for having idiotic library opening hours.
Thank you for having some of the bitterest, snarliest, staff in the world, especially registrations in Aungier St, porters in Aungier st, and library staff in Bolton St
And thank you for the unbelievable level of bureaucratic ****e. ('sorry i cant do that, youll have to go to someone else')

All the academic staff I have contact with are in the main very good and at least interested in their jobs, so thanks for that.

Being fair, I'd say most of the people on the list in the OP do a good job. The porters and SU staff are always very friendly and the health centres do a great job. Thank you to them!

However, the rest of the DIT staff seem to think that students should get mushroom treatment. (kept in the dark and fed bull****)

So thank you DIT (NOT), for having cleaners that I suspect strongly (as in, it couldn't have been anyone else) of swiping my phone, for having lecturers with various complexes, for having registrations/accounts staff that for some reason think I owe 3 years worth of fees and for having crap online services meaning you wreck your head trying to get at something when it should take 30 seconds.

YES. I agree completely with this. The library staff in Bolton Street are seriously outrageous. If I am sitting at a desk (nowhere near any of the study desks) with 3 other people quietly discussing a project that we have to do, it does not make it any quieter if you come over yelling to stop talking. Nor does it make any sense to, given that there is a silent study section (albeit usually leaking) and that there are no seminar rooms for groupwork in the library. GAH. I reserve the right to use the library for study.

I'll give my thanks when I escape this hell....

But, I would just like to thank DIT for robbing my Christmas for the last four years.

Change the semester please. It's far too stressful and depressing this way....

DIT - For those that won't survive in a mainstream job.

At least this statement comes to mind when dealing
with the registrations/exam staff. It's the truth imo.

Oh, and the ability for people to cheat and incur absolutely
no penalty is another one. Joke imo. DIT is a depressing hole.

The "John" fellow in Kevin street is one of the only redeeming
points to note. To say that guy is a legend is an understatement.

I hope the praise for the porters is not for the kevin st. ones.
Most of them, bar maybe 1, in my experience, are completely unfriendly and unhelpful and are generally assh*les. They sit playing solitaire all day and when you ask them for 1 thing they seem to not have a clue whats going on.

That said, experience with the aingier st. ones is mostly pleasant and helpful

And yes, john the snakery man is well sound

Being honest I just felt that there are people in DIT who do go above and beyond the call of duty. My experience generally is with the student health centre in Aungier st, they have on few occasions gone above and beyond for me. I find this service excellent, as I live quite a distance away from home!

I am also well aware that there are other issues with staff in DIT, that some to say the least don't give a toss! I am here myself two weeks before my exams with no timetable!

Has anyone out there any positives to say about DIT?:)
