on a very energetic morning 90 minutes - bout 50 minutes of highish intensity cardio followed by weights and just pricking around for maybe last 15 mins or else more low intensity cardio

Well what would your workouts range between then and what would be the reasons for the differences. All my workouts are roughly the same length tbh.

alright, pretty vague here now but

    Bench day -65 minutes
    squat day -85 minutes +
    deadlift day - around 75
shoulder press day usually under an hour.

unless your doing the exact same thing every time, why would your workouts be the same length. lots of things will affect the time in the gym, intensity, volume, rehab/prehab, supersets etc or simply how busy it is. i wouldnt be judging workouts by their time, whats that going to tell you?

I do two different workouts in a week.
A is chest, triceps and legs.B is back , biceps, shoulders and abs. Both are intense and both last 90 minutes.I was asking how long the average workout lasts because there are lads in my gym who are in there when i go in and are still plugging away when i'm leaving.I was just wondering whether this was common to have such long workouts(at least compared to mine).

well i take about an hour to an hour and half and id guess thats average but a lot of guys will take 2 hours maybe more because they think they have to. a lot of posters post about time in the gym like the more time the better the workout. only thing that matters is that your getting stronger. are you getting stronger? will an hour extra make you stronger? i absolutely love short workouts but the heavier i lift the longer im in the gym, and the heavier i lift the stronger i get so im in for an hour and a half some days. tbh id say most people spend too long in the gym than not enough and id be looking more at your workout than the time it takes. why do you use that split btw.

jasus i could not do over about 45mins in the gym - get very bored and some of the hardest sessions i have done have been under 5mins. Might have taken me 15mins to get ready for it though.

Most people base their training on time spent in the gym rather than the quality and intensity of the effort involved.

I prefer shorter and harder sessions.

    About 3.5 inches. ;)

As with Transform above, on road, circuits, astro all one hour.

On my own circuits at home or on the cross trainer it would be 45 mins, but with HIIT built in or very small gaps between circuit stations.

45 minutes cardio and half an hour of weights, resistance training and stretching.

The odd day if I'm sore I'll do 45 minutes to an hour of cardio and leave it at that. As long as I have my MP3 player with me I don't get bored.

    30 minute walk everyday
45(ish) mins weights 2 days per week
45(ish) mins circuits 2 days per week

Aim to get fit, loose some weight.

Agree with this but the key word is most. Some get more from volume and some get more from intensity.

    My sessions are as follows:

Conditioning 80mins of which 50mins are work (Prowler 10*2, Workblock 15*2)
Intervals 25mins of which 10mins are work (30s*10*2)
Strength 75-90mins of which most (half) is rest
    BJJ 150mins

I wouldnt have the time or patience for steady state cardio because i try to do 2 strength, 2 conditioning, 2 BJJ, 3 intervals and an open mat each week.

weights days 40/45 mins, cardio days 20 mins HIIT or 40-60 not so intense cardio. I can't see how anyone could do weights for more than 40 mins or so!

I'm usually in and out of the gym within an hour. That's from the time walking in the door until i walk outta it. About 45 minutes including rest between sets for total workout.

I'm doing some full body weights sessions at the moment , three times a week. I generally take 15 mins to get ready for the session and then it lasts around 50 mins.

The day after I'll normally do 20 mins of intervals, rehab core work and foam rolling and stretching etc. That's usually about an hour in total.
