So I am hearing of a lot of modified cars getting robbed and im going to add more protection to my car . . .

A friend recommended a fuel cut off switch, Basicly when you leave your car you press this switch and it will cut the fuel, and therefore a robber can brake in but cant get it started. You can hide this switch anywhere in the car.

Im just wondering what you lads have and what you'd recommend???

depends on how much you intend to spend, an alarm and immobilizer should be a minimum.

You can get the black jax anti hijack system from clifford, you can look into proximity sensors etc..

Then you can have a cut off switch as well

You could also look into trackers

On my car I have a Clifford, Black Jax, Proxy Sensors and all the wiring is in a sealed box inside the car. Pretty expensive though, 650 for it, but you get the blue flashing light, tis a huge deterant. With a fuel cut off, they'll already smash your window/bend your door/wreck your lock to get in before finding out you have a cut off switch.

If you got a good alarm and felt it wasn't good enough, then maybe install one

Had a Clifford G5 with Blackax on my last car, great peace of mind knowing that the car was protected from theft with keys or someone driving off while the engine was running.

The best fuel cut is the the one that uses a magnet to turn on, then a switch to turn off.

Doesn't matter a damn if they physically lift your car.
GPS with a multi point immobilisier gives you the best chance of getting your car back.

Though any donkey can jam GPS.

Can't imagine they'd be cheap either? Tilt Sensors built into the alarm would do a decent job

Monitored GPS is very expensive. Though there a lovely unit and if i had something worth protecting it would be my choice.

Multi point immobilisers are cheap. They just cut more than fuel. Like CAS and ignition amp. Its a relay and a little effort from the alarm fitter.

At the end of the day iv seen badly fitted alarms that arnt worth a damn, i once removed a malfunctioning alarm from a friends car in 5 minutes because it was easy to get to. (single point immobiliser behind the glove box)

Believe it or not factory fitted immobilisers built into the ecu are very effective, the reason that Japanese imports are high on the list of stolen vehicles is unlike Europe there is no requirement by law to have afactory fitted immobiliser. (in european cars you actually have to bypass this for remote start)

The last car i fitted a kill switch to was a nissan sylvia. I used a latching relay while i fitted the alarm slowly as i hid all the wires in the factory loom.

I actually talked to a mechanic about a pager alarm and he asked a very valid question. What do you do if your pager goes off and there's 5 people lifting your car onto a flat-bed.

Very true, both systems have their +'s ans -'s.

The Kill switch being that your car could get smashed up before they know there's anything fitted, and the alarms being what do you do if there's a load of them.

TBH, I drive an Integra and I feel that a factory fitted immobiliser and clifford with a few bits and pieces are enough to keep most away. Well I hope anyway!!!
