    Hi There,

Currently in the second year of that course, just about lived to tell the tale. Toughest two years of my life, they put you through intense academic and practical training..BUT in four months I will have qualified along with 15 classmates..

I'll PM you with answers to specific questions, a few people have asked me for info the past few months on the course, so I'm more than happy to help if I can at all.

Firstly, WELL DONE on getting and interview. The application rate versus acceptance is usually 5:1 and many people who get the course are on their second year applying. Your interview will consist of one academic member of staff and one practitioner (mine was a principal social worker in mental health). Presentation is key; dress smart, good handshake and smile; remember as a social worker you are meeting people all the time.

I honestly cannot remember the exact questions as my interview was short last year; I timed it and it was 3 minutes!! wheras my friend was about 10 minutes; so it isn't an indicator of whether you get the course or not. They will ask about your previous work experience, what you feel you can bring to the course, and sometimes they ask what you understand social justice to be...that's a nut of a question but be familiar with that and the terms 'anti-discriminatory practice' ...they may not come up but they have so best be sure! They asked me about my extra curricular activities too; it is a demanding course so they want to see you are able to look after your self mentally and physically when the going gets tough. (we all struggle!!)

PM me any questions you have an I would be happy to meet with you to run through some things if you would think it might help. It's a toughie but you have gotten this far so they think you may have what they need :) Oh and PM me the room number you have been given so I might be able to tell you what lecturer's office you are in, hence what interviewer.... :)
