Left car in to peugeot garage to get the mini service of 120 as advertised

Just got off phone from garage with list of stuff to be done on car

    1) New Battery 122 euro

    2) Injection Seal 165 euro

    3) Driver side anti roll bar link 240

    4) Corrosion in tow bar well 188 euro*

    5) Service now: 370 to include 6 bulbs (I reckon this is because they are not standard peug ones) air filter, fuel filter, oil filter and oil, pollen filter

Am i right in thinking i'm being taken for a ride?

    * I just want them to disconect this all together as it is not used and this is the price they are saying as the wires cant be just snipped like in the old day and car has to also be reprogrammed to be told there is no tow bar????

Surely the Oil filter and oil are included in the €120?

So they're charging €250 for two filters and 6 bulbs?

A pollen filter at most is €25, fuel filter at most is €30, and a bulb would be at most €2.50 each. Total of €70 parts - €180 or three hours for labour?

I'd take your car out of there if I were you.

with regard to the other bits and pieces like the roll bar link and injection seal what are prices like? also what would be the urgency on getting these done as not flush at the moment?

A full set of injector seals from a main dealer works out around 20euro..
the labour to remove the and fits seals to one injector would be around 1 hr
it depends how difficult it was to remove the injector.

Why did they not ring you and state this work would need to be done
instead of going ahead doing it and landing you with this bill....

Bulbs are bulbs...nothing special about peugeot bulbs.

Yes the bsi needs to be told it has no tow bar if it was removed...thats modern cars for ya...

This is the best way to get punters into main dealers for servicing.

You are paying FULL price for all these generic parts that can be got in a motor factors for a fraction of the price.

    If I were you:
    1. I would get the basics done as per the €120 which was already agreed by both parties.
    2. Fix all bulbs yourself and replace the pollen filter.battery
    3. go to an indy for work you cant do yourself eg( the mentioned injector seal and roll-bar bushing).

Seems like you are getting shafted to me. Anti Roll link seems like a crazy price to me.

Definitly dodgy, the problem about allot of the garages is that they won't charge you how much the work is worth, they'll charge you how much they thing you'd pay to get your car back.
