if something like this excisted for straight people they would be uproar lol

Why? There are strip clubs catering for straight people, there are massage parlours catering for straight people and there is no uproar so why do you think there would be if saunas existed for straight people?

The only reason this doesn't exist in the straight community is because it would be frequented by 99% men if it did!

Not to mention plenty of escort services that are prostitution in all but name.

Well in fairness that caters for every sexual orientation. Where as the massage parlours and strip clubs which hide the sex element behind the front of either getting a massage or ehmm dancing lol when both can end up with sex if you want it is a more accurate comparison as a straight to gay equivelant imo

There is no equivelant, the comparison is not possible because we are talking about Male Sexuality not gay or staight, men like to get off and when men come together to have sex with each other they come up with a gay sauna!
And Saunas is only scratching the surface, god help us if we start talking about cruising, dark rooms, leather clubs.

Down with recreational sex, that's just shockin behaviour altogether. Sex is for making babies, nothing else!

Oh so your not aware that there is an active swinging culture in Dublin between yes you have guessed it hetrosexual couples not to mention BDSM.

I agree there is no equivelent in hetrosexual sex because in a lot of cases women are less inclined to casual sex unless they are getting paid for it, where as for a lot of men gay or straight any holes a goal, good old mother nature. I still think that the massage parlours are a fairly close equivelent in the need that they serve for straight men though!

As Aard said I think it was kind of hard to miss the sarcasm in that one!

There's no dark room or leather clubs in Ireland so talk away

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Ha Ha Ha, Yes your right I am a sinner and I am enjoying every bit of it, just remember we are here for a good time not a long time. We are all sinners and yes that you as well Azezil so please don't throw stones stones when you live in a glasshouse yourself and don't judge people as we will all be judged on the last day by the man above. Just enjoy life and for god sake let your hair (if you have some) down.

so could someone on here tell me what the place is like - as in are there any hot guys in there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,905 ✭✭✭Aard

Beauty is in the eye etc. I think saunas get a variety of customers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61 ✭✭normaldude

well i been in sauna in toronto and NYC and in dublin and the ones I was in was full hot guys even the boiler house in dublin the sat nite i was there was ok, guess you get gay, bi, curious and married guys who just what to have fun and know the risks.
The guys I mean as hot are generally fit guys who look after themselves prob under 40, im 29 and would be fit i guess, so the question I was asking is there fit good looking guys under 40 going into the sauna in cork or not? Please tell the scandal on the place if anyone has been in the there -I think the last six pages have been kinda an excerise on moral issues but Im just wondering what the place is like, and what kinda guys go there?

Whats the legal position of a sauna that is clearly a bolthole for sex? Are saunas (of any kind) licenced or can they just operate willy-nilly (so to speak!)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,163 ✭✭✭✭Boston

They're not illegal. You don't need a license just need to meet health and safety standards for a public amenity. I'm sure most operate as private members clubs as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61 ✭✭normaldude

will someone just tell wat the sauna crowd are like rather than harping on if the place is morally legally rit?

Hi Whiteblueman, I have been there again during the week and they are keeping it very clean thank God. You will meet up with down to earth guys there as well and make new friends there. The late evening is the best time to go and the weekends as well.

i was there last month for the first time. it's the first one i visited that is not purpose built. the guy taking the money ripped me off cuz he charged me 20e at 7.50pm but when i went to the locker to change a sign read it would have only cost 15e from 8pm... the greedy **** should have told me that seeing as there was only one other person there then the gruff **** showed me around in his uninspiring manner. it's a nice building, and the private rooms are more like ensuite rooms than purpose built. The shower in one room didn't work so i left and went to another where i found the ****in thing finicky plus the water pressure/temperature just passable. There was a small sauna that was out of order, and another walk in yoke of a sauna that he showed me, and i didn't bother using it because it looked ****. When you go downstairs to near the lockers, there is a chillout area with seats and TV screen showing porn. Only one oldish potbellied guy was there that i saw and just wasn't my type. when i was leavin there were 2 or 3 other young fella babbling away with the **** at the door who was swallowing curry chicken into him as i left. And they even ask you to sign your name while you are leaving which i didn't like (made up a fake name). it might be grand if u turn up late otherwise you will end up feeling like the only gay in the village.

Thats what happens in all gay saunas - men have sex
