    Hello all.

I would like to introduce a new resource for the Irish Airsofting community.

Irish Airsoft Sites will be a place for both the well tried airsofter and the first time out player,
Where you will be able to find out where your nearest skirmish site is or where your nearest airsoft shop is.
A website that a group of guys and girls can go to to organise a day out.

I hopefully will be able to go live by the end of this weekend with the full website.
I am developing this on my own so would like a bit of input especially from sites or shops if i haven't tagged you on the map yet.

To get this off the ground, i have a contact page setup on the website so if you have any sites that i can mark in please email them along. Also any comments would be more than welcome.

For each site that i will have marked i would see their name and location obviously, a link to their website, and a link to a photo gallery of shots from the site itself.
For the Photos Link you can either upload them to your own web page, or i will have an email address setup where by you can email the photos to me with a description and i will add them to a gallery.

Add me on twitter on http://twitter.com/IREAirsoftSites/ and i will keep it updated with the site progress and any new sites i add.

Please do not contact me at this stage in relation with any advertising. Down the line once the site is setup and running i may look into expanding.

    I give you http://www.IrishAirsoftSites.ie

Where will you shoot next ?

Thank you for the blatant thread hijacking.

I have completed most of the development work of http://www.irishairsoftsites.ie/ at this stage.

I have entered a good few locations on the map.

Next on the list is for me to fill up the Links section and search for more sites to put on the map... and hopefully people will send in a few updates to help me out.

Not sure if your looking for people to post you info
    on this thread or not.

LAC have a discussion board here
and co-ordinates to the Skirmish site:
    http://limerickairsoft.darkbb.com/

They also have a facebook page
    http://www.facebook.com/pages/Limerick-Airsoft-Camp

Pages are not really updated very much though.

I have a few questions about what criteria you're using to decide whether to list a site:
    1. Have you checked that the site operator has landowner permission?
    2. Have you checked that the site has Public Liability Insurance for at least 1.3million euro?
    3. Have you checked that there are qualified First Aiders on duty?
    4. Have you checked whether there is a Child Protection policy in place?
    5. Have you checked that the waiver for minors includes explicit permission to render medical assistance in an emergency and up-to-date contact details for parent/guardian?
    6. Have you checked that the site maintains a sign-in book and an Accident Log?
    7. Have you checked that there is a proper Safe Zone, with safety rules strictly enforced?
    8. Have you checked that the site properly chronos all guns and only allows those under 1J?
    9. Have you checked that the site fully complies with all applicable legislation?
    10. Have you checked that the site does not bring the sport into disrepute in any way?
    11. Have you checked what your own position is if you are advertising a site that is not in compliance with the law?

The reply to All questions is No.

I am in no way publishing this as a reglatory site.
This is a map of the sites that are available to be used.

Much the same as if you type restaurants into google maps. The results you get back do not assure that each restaurant on the map has all the health certificates or safety.

Thanks for bringing that point to me - i will clarify that on the About page.

so sites that are operating outside the law will and can be posted on the site

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,699 ✭✭✭samhail

What is your opinion on that Gatling ?
Would it be better to know that there is a site 2miles down the road from you so you can check it out and with that interest the site by legalise ?

So far i have taken the sites from what have been posted on these forums - so i assume that sites who want to be known about have posted up here.

You are aware by promoting illegal sites you will be committing a criminal offence?

Operation of restaurants are not governed under the criminal justice act like airsoft sites are.

Not trying to rain on your party, just making sure 1) idiots that endanger our sport by skirmishing illegally dont have a place to advertise and 2) you dont get in trouble :)

I was not aware that listing airsoft sites around the country that i would be committing a criminal offence.
Thanks for bringing this to me.
I may post over on the Legal Discussion forums to see how liable i am.

Might be time to close the doors of irishairsoftsites.ie

I wouldn't say you have a problem yet, just insure all the sites you put up are "Legal" under the eyes of the CJA 2009. If not you could be promoting a criminal activity, eg. Operating an Illegal site and using an RIF on an illegal site.

I am just wondering, do you ask sites permission before putting up their information? I am not being accusatory, just curious

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,699 ✭✭✭samhail

I didnt get the sites permissions. Only listed the ones that are on these forums/in public knowledge.

If any site would prefer not to be listed please contact me and ill remove asap.

too hard to see who is compliant but your not the regulatory body
just put a disclaimer saying "while every effort has been made we cannot gaurentee the compliance of these sites you the customer should do so "

this is not legal advice so mabey check but i doubt you are gonna be accused of knowingly advertising non compliant sites

and get the site owner / chairman / manager to tell you that the site is compliant its the em that will be in trouble if theyare doing illegal stuff

    again not olegal advice

    I appricate the input.

I must have a look at one of those websites that people download illegal software and music from (if i cold even find one) - We are not hosting any Airsoft Games on this website. If you use the information on this site you must find out if you are allowed in your country.
