A 19-year-old Ukrainian man has been rescued from the steep side of a cliff in Sydney, Australia, after apparently falling fast asleep.
A fisherman noticed the tourist on the cliff dressed only in shorts, and alerted the authorities.
Gary Sinclair from the New South Wales Ambulance Service said it appeared he had just wanted to have a look at the sunrise.

Can anyone beat that for a dangerous place to drop off!

I suppose I'd have to say a bed would be a great place to sleep.

Once fell asleep at the wheel driving back to Dublin after a gig in Waterford. 5 lads and all our gear. Woke up on the wrong side of the road having narrowly missed a traffic island.

    Lucky escape.

I used to work in a coffin factory in North Holland, where some of the workers would climb into the coffins at lunchtime for a kip.

That could work out as a grave error of judgement.

I used to fall asleep in the dogs kennel when I was little.

Am the same slasher, ended up in a mates (non insulated) garage one January night cos he lost his keys, we slept on wooden planks to stay off the freezing ground, after that I vowed I'd always end up in a bed no matter who's it was :)

A few people have climbed the suspension bridge in Kenmare after nights out as it's on the way back into town from the main nightclub. In fact, a man was recently rescued by the fire brigade and the guards after falling asleep on top of it. I'll try and dig out the link :)

Edit: that didn't take long :)

Fell asleep on the street the night before La Tomatina, was woken in the morning surrounded by thousands of people and being sprayed down with freezing water. I had fell asleep in the pperfect spot though right in the middle of it all beside the greced up pole.

Screw the OP's usual bigoted rant*

    Look at the thread title.

(Mr. Incognito does not actually know nor imply that the OP is a bigot, he is just trying to make a point and apologies if he has offended said bigot)

got off the train, unlocked my bike and walked up the train station bridge with it, got on the bike and freewheeled down, nodded off near the bottom and my bike wobbled a bit , I quickly woke up and took control,
then walked the rest of the way home

had a bad sleep problem at the time

I slept on the side of the Cliffs of Moher once, in the lashings of rain, in a plastic orange survival bag, with a wet dog.

    Good times.

It must be of great comfort to know the TV crew got there before the emergency services. Some great reporting.
