The Raceform update one thats costs about 4 euro is out this Friday.

The Racing Post one is out today (Wednesday) and costs about 13 euros and might be harder to find.

The Wetherby's festival guide is available now. Sometimes you see this being sold at preview nights. I'm waiting for my copy to hit the post box some time this week!

Have always thought about getting one of these previews, in particular the Wetherby's one as it is usually well mentioned but to date have never bothered.

Do you guys find these to be a useful tool to actually finding winners you hadn't been alerted to before or are they simply just a decent read telling you what you pretty much already know???

    cheers

I wouldnt be a fan of them to be honest. They kinda just concentrate on the big guns in the big races telling me things I already know. The rest is often jargon on stable strings. They cant be precise enough on the handicaps this far away from the festival as some of them dont know which they'll even go for.

Personally I'd much rather just buy the racing post every day of the festival. At least then you get a indepth view of the days racing.

They are good for getting the juices going tho! (like a kinda soft porn........)

    God I cant wait!! :D

I buy the Weatherby's guide. Its a great read even if you completely ignore trends. I also find 'The Bookmakers View' sections interesting. They usually have clued up people like Mike Dillon, although Paddy Power also usually makes an appearance also!

I bought the weatherby's guide online. Not sure if its sold in shops but you often see it sold at preview nights

I usually love buying the RP the evening before racing as it gives a nice overview of the week...

I might just see if the previews in Eason or somewhere and have a quick flick through it before buying as I am a fan of trends...!

Got this this morning in an ordinary newsagents, it wasnt there yesterday so im assuming they are only available in Ireland as of today.

Bought the Racing Post one yesterday in Easons.

Very mediocre to say the least.

Got my Weatherby's guide on Friday. However they posted it to the invoice address and not the requested postal address for the 2nd year running! Luckily I was home at the weekend so picked it up

You don't want the RP one. Not great at all, really poor layout imo.

Might interest a few as it's always a good read.

Cheers Bluetonic, at a glance this looks exactly like the type of info I was looking to obtain from the other guides... looks like this is my weekend sorted now!!!

Even if I only find one winner from these stats I'll take pleasure from it!!!
