Call of Duty In Negative

Last night I was playing CODMOD2. From the moment I loaded the game, the colours on the PS button display started to change. I then went into the game, and it seemed that the game's display became negative (as in, the colours reversed ie. green was now blue). I played a round on Faleva, for example, and the sky was orange.(?!)

I played on just out of curiosity, and it was the same on every level. The other players looked like Smurfs, and every level had a sort of blue tint.

As soon as I exited the game however, everything when back to normal. There was nothing wrong with my TV or with the PS3, Heat was on and Al Pacino looked fine. It seems that just for the period that I was playing the game, all the colours went wrong.

Has anyone else had this problem? I'm sort of afraid to turn it on again!

Probably a modded server, restarting the game should fix it, but if you're thrown into a game that's messed up like that, it's most likely modders messing with the servers. Haven't heard much about modding on the PS3 but it happens a fair bit on 360

Well when it first happened I thought it was something to do with a double-XP weekend (such is my limited knowledge of COD!), which was obviously very wrong. Then I thought it might be some sort of mod, but before I'd even entered a game, that golden mist that's on the Start Menu was blue.

Well, I've just gone to check the game again, and it looks like it's back to normal. So I think it's a possibility that my copy of the game just fecked up amazingly for no reason.

I cant imagine much modding on the 360 as they are dedicated servers by microsoft, I know glitches are easy to find in the game and there are plenty of noobs on the 360 that will expolit these. I reckon it must be the game or modding, i'd go with modding because afaik ps3 discs cant be scratched.

Sorry, but it sounds to me as if your GPU (graphics process unit) is on it's way out, you might see the red ring of death shortly! :( Make sure to send it back to Microsoft even if it is out of warranty as they have to fix issues like this.

he has a ps3. I second the modded server. I have a 360 and have gone into some super fast (read: super annoying) games being hosted on a modded server. where all the games you played on the same server?

how is it his modded server when he said it started before he went into a game

Yeah, this was the thing that sort of made me think it was something else. That golden mist at the start menu turned blue, but the silver was still normal(?). My gamertag turned pink, but the green 'New' signs that are usually next to the Barracks or Create A Class options were still green. I thought it might be the PS3-equivalent of the Red Ring, as one of my many 360s met its end playing the original COD: colours went insane, screen flickered etc., but the PS3 is working fine.

All's well now anyway, and I can't find anything on the internet which relates to the problem, so I guess it was just a rare screw-up.

I'm pretty broken up about never see my gamertag in pink again though!

I dont think it was a modded server , it can happen (rarely) if your thrown into a room that you shouldnt have been thrown into.
I was in a room with my m8's and the the host turned off his console , server connection timed out came up then for some strange reason it me away from the room (i was alos in a party with 4 others ) and threw me into a room where the colours were weird.

I wouldnt worry about it unless it starts happening more frequently.
