    Login to your router:

open a browser and browse to: http://192.168.1.254

There should be a menu for wireless settings on the left where you can change the wireless options. Make a note of what it's set at before you make any changes just in case you need to change it back.

Keep in mind that if you do switch to 802.11g only, any other devices (PC's etc) that connect over 802.11b will no longer be able to connect.

Unfortunately.. I'd say you'll be out of luck if you bought it in the US.
All iPods and Macbooks have a worldwide warranty, I'd be very surprised if the iPad doesn't also.

was reading on apple.com that people in Australia and england are having the same problem and apple have informed them that when its released in these territories they will have no problem replacing them.

Ah right... I thought I read something online about limited warranty / service options for people who reside outside of the country they bought the iPad in.

Won't people be able to just order from Amazon though?

i dont think buying on amazon is possible Prof, i tried to buy a samsung tv for the bedroom a few months ago from .co.uk and they wouldn't ship it to ireland although pixmania did:confused:

i would say apple will have clauses on where it can and cant be sold until its released world wide.

That's because there's a restriction on large items over 30 kg. They only deliver them to the UK mainland. But they'll ship anything below that to Ireland, including iMacs.

But by the time Apple let Amazon sell it, the iPad will probably already be out here.

You could always pre-order it from the likes of Expansys but you may need a travel adaptor as chances are it will ship with a European power plug.

Good product placement for the iPad yesterday on the BBC coverage of the F1 race in Monte Carlo, the presenter Jake whatever his name is was standing there with coultard and jordan reading mails and twitter on it with the big apple logo on the back.

Surprised at the BBC they usually dont go down that road.

Maybe its just catching on. Maybe someone figured that the iPad would be the best device for that purpose :)
