Is anyone else having problems with their visa electron cards not been accepted on the flybe booking system??
They are the only form of card that incurs no booking fee but my card isnt accepted. (My card works on aer lingus and easyjet bookings).
Have emailed flybe in regard to it, but have yet to get a response.

Has the Electron not been phased out or replaced by the Payzone Worldwide card?

I'm nearly sure I read a news article on the electron recently, I think it was something got to do with them experiencing transaction processing problems but I'm not sure ......

    Recieved email from flybe
seems it doesnt recognise some visa electron (virtual ones). However, if followed up they say they should refund any booking costs..
    reply was:

Thank you for contacting the Technical Support Desk at Flybe.

The card we accept online that does not consist of a booking fee and card supplement is a Visa Electron.

We do not intentionally apply card charges to this type of card. The bank/building society that issues the card regularly update worldwide debiting systems of their bin ranges (last 6 numbers and last 6 numbers of a card) that do and do not carry a surcharge these are then loaded within our system and then the fees are applied accordingly when you make a booking.

However there has been a rapid increase in companies issuing Visa Electrons as pre-pay top up cards. When a company issues these they do not update any of the debiting systems that they do not carry a charge due to them being Visa Electron therefore our debiting system does not recognise it and applies the charges if thinks it should carry.

Unfortunately we are not aware of this until a customer makes a booking and contacts us to advise us they have been charged incorrect charges. However these are refunded back onto the customers card.

Please do not hesitate to contact me again if you have any further technical queries.

    Kind Regards,
