Why shouldnt this be allowed, if he's able todo both jobs, why not?

He was neglecting his obligations in one of the jobs so he obviously wasn't doing both of his jobs properly.

Clause saying you can't do what he did in his contract I think. Also you can't do two full time jobs anyway, he taught me and stormed out of class one day after shouting at us, must have had a class in the other college eh.

Probably thought he would get away with it.

Nice little stroke if you can get it.

Well since he made over a million at it, I would say he did get away with it, also he was teaching us from a book he wrote I think, yeah can't be too poor like

Prof Browne said all lecturers were required to carry out research outside of their teaching hours and that the lecturer in question had been neglecting his research obligations. This was how the situation came to light.

I think thats a good reason for the sack

So, the only reason he was caught, was someone noticed that his research was not up to scratch in one of the jobs.

Was he using the same PPS number while claiming 2 paychecks?

Are there no other checks in place to prevent this happening? What's to stop someone working in Public Service Payroll, giving themselves 2 or 3 paid jobs?

Can't remember, think somebody told on him
Not sure how you get away with this, two pensions, twos etc

This incident should send a clear message to anyone thinking of getting two pensions and neglecting their work: You won't get away with it if you're not in Fianna Fail.

Aw, come on, don't be too hard on him. Everybody needs money. And what he's doing is nice work if you can get it.

The lad in question who I'll not mention was a lecturer of mine and we hardly seen the lad at all. We were fecked for our exams so his double jobbing wasn't so great.

Why shouldnt this be allowed, if he's able to do both jobs, why not?

Because if he is doing his job properly, most of his time should be taken with administration, course development, teaching and supervision
