I have a problem with my heating, I have zoned the HW and Heating but the rads still get hot when i'm heating the hit water.

Zone valves are working - confirmed
By pass flow pipe fitted from the boiler straight to the cylinder to avoid the primary flow picking up rads on the way to the cylinder on the way which was the case on the system before i upgraded it.

    I baffled

How do you know the zone valve are working. Just because there is power to them they actually might be stuck.

What test have you confirmed because a stuck zone valve is usually the cause of this..

Used a Honeywell smartfit which gives fault codes on the time clock if any of the valves, room stat or the cylinder stat is not working, all open and close on command and phones the engineer from Honeywell who said he has never seen a smartfit fail to bring up a fault code

Has this just recently happened or is it since you got the work done? If it's happened since you got the work done and you are sure the motorized valves are working then there has to be reverse circulation some where. Remove the actuator from the valve and manually close the valve. If it shuts off the rads the actuator is faulty. If it still persists then it's reverse circulation.

    Lets know what happens:)

Dose a fault code come up if the time clock is faulty?

I don't trust anybody, so if it were me i would be feeling around the valves to confirm no heat is passing before i looked for a funky fault, Gary.

    I think it's reverse circulation
I'm actually mech fitter so have some understanding but need to stop this reverse circulation some how.

Don't think it can be reversed circulation, It would need an open circuit to do so.

I would think, it is either a stuck spindle on the body of a motorised valve/actuator, or the installation is piped incorrectly.

I can't see how it can be either.

It wont do any harm to check. Take off the actuators and manually close to eliminate the controls. God himself could tell me that it was not the controls but I wouldn't trust him:D, I would have to find out for myself.

Hi, could anyone recommend course of action for me.
My heating system is not working. The lcd clock until recently worked for when I set the water to come on. But the heating system doesn't work at all. The water is not pumped around the system. I want to get someone in to look at it. Should I use a bord gas registered installer? I want to be sure the plumber knows how to deal with this.

And recently the lcd has gone blank so I cannot use it, I need a replacement by the looks of it also.

    Any help much obliged.
