I have decided to emirgrate in the next year. I was planning on going to the UK, but with all the New taxes and cuts coming over there, and this proposed new Road pricing. No Thanks, so what other English speaking Country's would be a good option?

I guess you assume you will bring your undoubted talents and positive outlook to your proposed new host country and it's inhabitants, will be real gratefull that you chose them above all other candidates, who sadly had to miss out on your presence in their midst:cool:
I get a whiff of cretain longtailed creatures and sinking ships here ........ bit like the PS long march day over the border :P:P

Pretty much all of Europe speaks English to some degree and has companies who will operate through English.
    North America
    Oceania
    Most of Africa
    Parts of Asia
    Antartica

    lots of options :D

Well off you go and dont come back when things pick up in 20 years!

    Hi Op,

Well although the English budget has changed the system somewhat, it will still be a fairly ok place to be. But as you asked about other English speaking countries to move to, a lot of people seem to either move to Australia or Canada (even though some of it is French speaking, they do speak English as well!)

In these economic recession times, you will have to sail with the waves as it is not just a European thing.

I wish you the best of luck

If I was to emigrate I'd be going to Canada, no argument about it. I know a few people who have gone over to Australia but remember, over there you'll be dealing with summer temperatures well over 35 degrees and if you think that beats Ireland's mild climate you should try working in heat like that.

I'd take cold over hot any day. You can always put on an extra jumper or throw an extra quilt on your bed but with heat, there's very little that can be done.

in the winter we sailed into halifax/and st johns,in the summer we would sail [when the st lawrence river opened again] we went to quebec, montreal then up the seaway to toronto ,hamilton through the lakes to winsor then to lake head, on the west coast we would go to vancover victoria,as well as a lots of little ports, lovely country but in the summer lots of black flies in the winter bloody cold with six foot snow drifts, take your snow shoes

Canada is the place a lot of my friends have gone to. But you have to have skills that they need otherwise there is a snowballs chance in hell of getting in there. All those I know who have moved there have very specialised IT skills that are in demand there. Most are based in Vancouver and rave about the city and the amenities around it.

Oh believe me the Irish FreeState has given me a wealth of third level education for free, thanks to the tax payer. Which I will be giving to my new Home State!:D
