    Hi,

Im with Vodafone (wasnt sure whether to put it in this forum or vodafone forum) and I can receive emails but not send them.

    I keep getting :

"The server rejected one of the recipients addresses iphone. The message has been placed in your outbox".

My Outgoing mail server is a business one (my own small company) and I also use an eircom one, neither of which will send emails. (the phone setup all the stuff correctly when I attached it up to my PC).

    Any suggestions ?

Your outgoing mail server needs to be set to Vodafone's settings, unless you are on your home/office WiFi, when it would need your ISP's smtp settings.
Easiest thing is to set up both, and the iPhone will try to connect each one until it finds the correct one.

As he said below. Vodafones outgoing mail server is mail.vodafone.ie. You can put this in as an additional smtp server (settings-mail,contacts,calendars- your mail account-account info-outgoing mail server. Add it in here.

I tried adding mail.vodafone.ie and when I click save it just gets stuck as if it is trying to load/save it up but nothing happens. it says "verifying SMTP account info" but just stays on that until I move off that page (and doesnt save it).

usually there is a bit where it says it cant authenticate with ssl, do you wish to continue without it. say yes.

Just got that . . Then is says :

    "smtp account verification Failed"
The SMTP server "mail.vodafone.ie" is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the "outgoing Mail Server" field.

Do you have login details in the outgoing settings? That should be blank

    Outgoing Mail Server SMTP
    Host Name: mail.vodafone.ie
Leave the rest in that section blank
