I spoke to my best mate who is one of their managers and he has no info.

It was all set for July 28th but was changed to 30th....ish no firm idea of arrival, numbers or prices at all.

Its making life very difficult for staff who don't have a clue of what to tell cumstomers.

"We have no idea" would be a good start!

We have no idea seems to be the current line for all networks.

That's the line I got from 3 in LV this morning. He said he could put me on the notify list but it's just the same as the one on the website.

Then 20 minutes later I get a text from 3: "It's official! iPhone is coming, blah blah blah...register your interest at www.three.ie etc." Still no hard facts.

With only a week to go, I really can't see anyone getting their iPhones next Friday. Unless the shops and networks know that they will be in such short supply that they don't actually need to market them until christmas at the earliest and will easily shift every one they get for the next few months. No real point in hyping up a big launch just so you can disappoint more people, is there?

Well, they announced the ipad only two days before release.....so i can't really see a reason why they won't do the same with the iphone.

I'm kinda aware of that, but it's an apple product and apple have to announce a release date before any resellers can.

i've said it before and i'll say it again...

To tick the "end of July" box on their tasklist, Apple will release a sim-free version on their website (for delivery, or available to order) on July 30th.

I'd put it at about 50/1 that any brick and mortar carrier store will be selling on contract next friday.

    Hope i'm wrong..

carphone warehouse are very bad. My friends n95 has broken down 3 times now and sent in for repair. It has broken down again and they have told her it must break down 2 more times before they will give her a credit note. This is still under warranty too.

How many stores in the ROI do Vodafone/O2 have anyway?

I think we all know they were going to be rare!

He thinks if carriers get 1000 they'd get 100 per carrier.

Sh1te! But makes sense seeing as there is stiLl no fuss etc being made. Looks like they will just release a few thousand to say they made the date.

Cpw have a 3 repair rule before it will be replaced. Has it gone for repair 3 times?

Also, if it's a firmware issue as you say, the. The firmware is easily updated by the user, so you didn't need to go near Cpw at all.

    Your story isn't adding up
