I've searched for anything similar to this but can't find so apologies if it's been covered before.

What's the best way to remove fingerprint marks from the boot lid, or anywhere on the paintwork for that matter?

    Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Polish, unless it's sun tan lotion fingerprints, they're awful hard to remove.

Just regular car polish? Cheers. Suppose they turn out to be sun tan lotion, what then?

I hear that the 'professionals' just torch the car afterwards to rid it of any incriminating evidence.

    (sorry OP, couldn't resist.)

I had loads of these on my car when I bought it. Safe Cut (like T-Cut) took them out no problem.

The girlfriend had this problem recently. Some kid must have put their two sticky little paws on the bonnet and left two full prints behind. I tried everything to get rid of them and eventually a good T-cut did the job perfectly!

As mentioned, Turtle Wax Safe-Cut would be your best bet! If you waxed the car recently, make sure to wax the area you use this on afterwards.

As a Classic head I know what you are chatting about... You bring the car home after a show and its smattered .. Ice cream is the hardest to get off.

Instant show shine will lift it.. Fast Glass works a charm as well..

If its suntan then the only option is polish.. I use Snap-seal.. But any polish will lift it.. Use clean microfibre or mutton chloths...

Since you went to the trouble of replying I thought I'd update. Went for the T-Cut and it seems to have done the job. Very happy with outcome.

    Many thanks to you all.
