    Hi Lads,
Apologies if this has been covered already, I've not been able to find it easily.

I know the answer to this depends on a lot of things, so I will try to pre-empt the questions :

I have been playing for 3 years and would say that I'm adequate.
I have a solid top Walden that I got in Music Maker for about €100.
I am able to tell the difference now between a good guitar sound and a really good sound. I learn songs to sing along to for my own pleasure. Plan to sing in front of family or friends at Xmas etc.

I've been looking at all wood guitars, some with pick up, some without. New and second hand on adverts etc.

My question I suppose is - what brand would you recommend for a guitar costing this amount ?
I've looked online at Tanglewoods, Corts, Yamaha, Epiphone and Takamine models all in this bracket and they all seem nice but I just need a steer please. I kind of prefer slimmer necked models.

    thanks a mill.

Come on lads, surely someone can give me a bit of advice !
What do you have/want at that pricepoint ?

Tanglewood tw115as would be what I would recommend if it's a straight acoustic you after, will come in at about 360. If you need a pickup then the tw115stce is a good second choice with that budget, the as is all solid wood and the stce is a solid top with laminate back and sides. They do the as with a pickup as well but it is a bit out of your budget.

If I were you I would go down to a shop and check them out. I would never buy an acoustic without playing it. So many variants from one guitar to another even with the same model.

Love the Takamine's myself - Takamine EG340SC is about 360/370 online i think. Slim necks easy to play.

Nice but will never be a taylor

Or Seagull (Godin) are great bang for the buck without paying for a "name"

A Yamaha in that price range, preferably a well looked after second hand that has dropped in price, would be a good option.

Epiphone masterbilt (better than standard epis) 370 from thomann.
You can play one in waltons in dublin where they're 500 quid.
For the money its just amazing. Reviews are stellar too.
