Was interested, but unable to buy it. First it wanted me to have a "Windows Live" account. When I didn't have that, it tried to get me to create an "xbox" account, even though I don't have an xbox, nor want anything for the xbox. And even when I tried to set that up it kept failing due to the ridiculous design of the sign up screen. No matter how good a bargain that game might be, nothing is worth the frustration of all that.

This was a great game in the day (Xbox version anyway). Pity the studio folded - would've loved some dlc or a sequel.

Through the Games for Window Marketplace program. It's not as nice as Steam, but does the job (for me at least). The lack of a search function or one that I can see is a bit strange though.

yeah i was having problems buying through the website and had to go through the marketplace app, it really is a joke though

"Blacklight: Tango down" is the same price at the moment, but looks a little crap tbf!

I'm in work at the moment, but obviously want to download it to my home PC if I got it rather than my work PC.

With AoE3 they just gave a cd key.
I don't think offline games are tied to your account except if you lose the key or need to download the game again.

There's a "LIVE Access Code", which you can use from any live account for online games.
That probably ties the game to the one account forever. Tried it with "Game Room", yuck.

It's actually an interesting set-up because with Shadowrun and Blackops, your information on these games feeds into your Xbox Live profile. It's a conincidence that I already own both games on the 360, but the achievements I open up on one platform carries over to the other.

I quite liked that feature with Fallout 3 - even if they are meaningless it's still nice to get that achievement ding while playing a PC game (steam ones just don't feel as gratifying somehow...)

Thanks, now if I only I could order the bloody thing, logging in keeps failing at logout as it seemingly can't log me out of Xbox (though why it wants to sign me out of everything whenever I click login, I don't know), which has caused this for me whenever I go to xbox.com now:
