seem to be a few going at the mo...!

    anywho..

going to be hooked to to a htpc, an xbox and a surround sound system - have a budget of approx 900 bucks

only stipulations really are that its gotta be 37" or 40" (preferably 37), work well with xbox and HD streamed content and be future compatible with all the up coming saorview/teletext jazz. No plasmas (concerns with burn-in with the htpc :o), and would prefer to purchase from bricks'n'mortar shops too..

only thing currently on my radar (im web-less alot these days, making research nigh impossible..) is the phillips 37PDL7605

any others I should be considering?

Good tv,by bricks and mortar shops do you mean independent retailers?
Samsung used to have a good 6 series internet 37inch 100 hz lcd,but haven't seen it in a while. What price is that Philips?

approx 850 by the looks of it - richersounds winning the bricks'n'mortar race currently (sorry, by bricks and mortar, I mean an irish walk-in physical shop, not an online retailer like pixmania)

currently checking out harvey norman, as I think they're doing a great deal on the 40" at the mo - 899 for it, plus the wifi dongle, plus a phillips bluray.. reckoning the 40" is that little bit too big unfortunately though

only thing holding me back from being 100% with it, is a less then glowing avforums review - link

To be honest,I only ever saw a 32 inch 7 series tv(lcd) and the picture was better than the Samsung 6 series LED that was beside it.I love the Ambilight feature aswell, looks great if you have it on a wall. I think that's an excellent offer from Harvey. 50 quid more for the dongle which is usually around 60 or 70 and the blue ray is 99 euro aswell.

    I think it's a 3 year guarantee with the 7 series aswell
