Wildfire Contacts/Address book Issue

Over the weekend I just noticed that almost all the contacts in my address book have been duplicated (some in triplicate) and are all indicating that they are on the sim. If I try to delete 1 of the duplicates, then all the contacts for that person are all deleted.

Has this happened to anyone else and is there a way to remove the duplicates while leaving 1???

Seems bizarre as up till the weekend I didn't have the problem and dont recall changing any setting?

Are you sure they're all on the SIM? If you copy all you contacts to Google then they duplicate. That's the only thing I can think of.

Yep, they all have the little Sim icon beside them.
For View I only have Sim & Phone visible

Bizarrly my Sim contacts have just now gone back to single entries instead of triplicate!

And even more bizarre, this morning all my Sim contacts are appearing 4 times each!!!!!
Turning th ephone off and on again seems to reset it to 1 entry each ... for a while

Wildfire (running Froyo) very close to being binned.
    - Contacts appearing 12 times each over the past few days
    - When someone calls me, instead of their name being shown for the incoming call, it displays the name of the last contact I called!
    - And then today, for no apparent reason, my phone started ringing ... without a call actually coming in. Phone was completely unresponsive so I had to take out the battery to stop it.

Called customer care about the other issues before and they sounded like they didn't believe me. Went into a shop on Saturday and they said they had never seen or heard of such issues.

Gonna have to back up everything and sent it back by the looks of things!

I had a HTC Tattoo that would just go spazzy with the vibrate. When I took the battery out it obviously stopped but when placing the battery back in, it would start the vibrating instantly.
    Wrecked my head.
