    Hi all

doing this as part info for others (to show its not all that hard :)) and sort of motivation for myself .....

I'm your regular joe bloggs.... early 20's, non smoker, suppose you could class me as a standard drinker (binge-ing units wise at the weekend) in around the 74- 76 KG range and 6 ft 1" or there abouts (low to average BMI before you go and check :P but I'm jus your normal average build)

I train in martial arts on and off, but havent faught in over 2 years and havent done anythin trainin wise since the end of November last ....

my aim is within 6 weeks, I will have built up my stamina, strength and endurence (maybe even lost some weight/muscle gain) in the process

    this entails

    • twice weekly martial arts training
    • 2X 3 KM runs
    • 1x 5 KM run
    • 2 x no weights exercise sessions
    • 1 x light weights session
now of course people are going to look at this and think ...pffftt not going to happen, and your right, straight away it wont, but it is what I hope to achieve in 6 weeks, where I will review my training ......

hoping to do a week by week update, any suggestions, questions, comments feel free to throw them in !

    Week one was last week,

I was a lazy ****e, all I got done was my two 3km runs, although I'm still happy I'm still able to run that far :D

The run itself is fairly straight foreward, mostly flat up to a racetrack where I do basically 3 laps, in each lap, I sprint (or go as fast as I can) the straights (roughly 100m) then bring everything down to walking, if not slower pace, but always on my toes, around the bends (100m or so again) ...

did the first one in 19 mins , second in 19 mins again, but the second run was slightly longer due to my usual route being blocked, so I think I've definitely already cracked the 6 min KM mark

was slightly hung over still on the second one (nearly puking mid jog) but felt great after ! :D

    end of week 2 yesterday...

only got my 3 km run done once, although I did shave a minute off the time and did it in 18 mins, on that slightly longer route

gave my 5km a go too, overall route is 5Km but didnt run it all in one go, my aim is to do this, did the whole lot in 39 mins.... a very ****e time, but the run itself is very tough in parts, with one 300 meter section climbing up 75 meters, and another 500 m section that climbs nearly 125 meters in elevation.

had my first go of my weight free exercise .... overall its just an upperbody going over, with the exercise being done 4 times per session

as you can see, exercise is being increased over the weeks, this week being week 3 now, I am also starting my weights train, so I'll see next Sunday how I get on !

week 3 was possibly the worst week so far .... hit a brick wall early and didnt get much done ....

although it could be seen that I got loads of variations done ....

    was due to do:
    • 2x nights martial arts training
    • 2x weight free work outs
    • 2x 3km runs
    • 1x 5 km run
    • 1x weights workout
only got , 1 X martial arts training in, 1x 3km run done, 1x weight free workout (without pull ups) and 1x weights workout (modified from what I was supposed to do).....

actually lookin back it wasnt bad goin, considering I was still suffering from the weekend on Tuesday....

Have been really sore, even after rest days, lots of good food intake and lots of stretching, so I must just be pushing myself far too much, especially after martial arts training .... I actually flew threw it, thought it was handy enough, but it was the day and 2 days after I felt it ....

gonna see how this week goes, and if i'm still hitting a brick wall, I'll have to scale back slightly and invest in some protien to help recovery

on the contratry... I am starting to see results already ... weight is pretty much the same (74-76kg range), but I have noticed shoulders and chest and arms firming up .... stomach is definitely a lot tighter, and during trainin last week I sailed through it apart from some burst endurence stuff, but that sort of stuff is meant to wear you out.... when i review my training in 3 (well two now) weeks, I'm going to try fit some stuff like that in ....

Hope everyone else is getting some good progress too ! :D
