Is the car a 02 or a 04?

    Hi everyone

    I did a cartell check on an audi a4 i might buy. Its advertised as 02 its on northern plates. But when i did a cartell it says manufactured in 2002, first registered in june 2004...
    When i vrt this could it be a 04?

    Cheers for any info

    The vrt is based on the date of first registration, not manufacter.

    So iv just bought a 04 car at 02 price?? Ill wait till the garage vrt's it but that is what i was thinking.

    Depends as the VRT will be more expensive for an 04 then an 02.

    Perhaps the reg it was given was a private plate in 04 and it was originally on another previous to that. You should check the V5 document.

    Are you looking at it or have you bought it?

    If yes, check the V5. If no, get the chassis number and call the DVLA or Audi UK to confirm the date of first reg.
