    Background:
The armed conflict between the Hizbul Islam and Al-Shabaab clans began due to a failed power sharing agreement in the southern region of Badhaade in southern Somalia.
The two factions had an agreement over control of the mineral rich region would rotate between the two factions for a period of six months. However due to clan politics and a difference of opinion over mining quotas the Al-Shabaab refused to let the power rotation take place as the amount of gold in the area began to dry up. As a consequence, fighting broke out all over the region. Most of the fighting has centered around the forests near the border with Kenya over control of the gold deposits. Gold is the source of income that both clans need to fund their factions.
The United Nations have stepped in to help stabilise the region and to protect and provide aid to the local indigenous population.
Mercanaries have also entered the region seeing an opportunity to turn the situation into profit.

    Factions:
    Hizbul Islam
    Al-Shabaab
    United Nations
    Mercenaries

Further info on ammo limits, medic protocol, game rules and factions found HERE.

Certain objectives will become available depending on how the conflict plays out and on the decisions of battle commanders.

    Just a few updates.

The United Nations and Merc factions are full up.

Also worth mentioning that the site is bio-bb's only! Available on site for 14euro (per 5000) or you can bring your own.

Hopefully the weather holds off so it actually feels more like Somalia...

Thanks to an invite from Mark at Borderlands I'm looking to get up to Dundalk for this. However, being the useless fecker I am, I've no way of getting there. So, I'm looking to see if anyone from South Dublin side of town will be attending, and if I could rob a lift from you?

I'm based in Sandyford and will obviously throw in a few bob for petrol like.

    Any takers?

PS: This will be my first foray into the airsoft/milsim world, and I'm using it as trial-run for Senny at month end. Thus, don't be surprised if I get the snot shot out of me while trying to wiggle a mag out of an overtightened ciras, or somesuch :D

    Any takers?

I was even going to trim my ear-hair for this :D

What's a pretty safe loadout to bring? I'm easy as to what team I'm on, so whatevers most useful to the organisers...

'The time for negotiations is over. The Al-Shabaab and Hizbul Islam factions have massed their troops in the mineral rich region of Badhaade. Both clans are loading up their mags, securing their forward positions and their commanders are going over the plans of attack one last time...
A United Nations peace keeping force has been deployed to the Kenyan border...

The local populace are starting to panic as the eve of battle approaches'...

As was once said, "In Somalia, killing is negotiation"...

That was absolutely deadly. Great pacing, plenty to keep us interested, excellent work by the villagers, lovely props (the gold nuggets and the UAV were especially good) and a huge variety of play. Made good use of the site too.

Thanks to all who played! We were snipped by a few percentage points when it came to the victory calculations, so well done for a game expertly played, Hizbul Islam! Can't complain about the narrow loss - after all, T.I.A.

Firstly hats off to all involved in putting today together. U have raised the bar.Great job. Can't believe we lost. May be the half ponund of gold nuggets I gave to my son as a present would have won it for us. Dad what this, O son it's some gold I captured of a rebel solder today. He thinks it real :))
Thanks and looking forward to the next one.
