City Centre Alternatives for Busáras?

Realistically, are there any sites available in the city where a large new central bus depot can be built that can house all the coach operators services and replace Bus Aras, bringing all Bus Eireann city termini back together again?

That aside, Bus Aras is in the wrong location. Getting out of Bus Aras itself is a complete misery at peak. All buses that depart from within Bus Aras itself do a double take on themselves, reversing out, then having to turn left around be Store Street. It can take ten minutes to get out onto Beresford Place, sometimes because the bus leaving the depot is stuck behind a queue of buses around the corner waiting to enter Bus Aras. Also, the LUAS further slows things down on Store Street for buses.

The eastern extremities of the Docklands before the East Link, some land is still undeveloped down there, but then it is not exactly City Centre. On the plus side, there is the Luas and Intercity buses then have quicker access to the port tunnel and in turn M50.

Was a Bus Aras replacement ever mooted in the NDP 2000-2006 or Transport 21 programmes?
