Kayaking in Portarlington

    Hi, just wondering does anyone know of a Kayaking club in Portarlington, Im new in the area and have all the gear but wondering does anyone do it locally.

    Hi cp2009. What kind of paddling do you want to do? You aren't too far from the dublin / liffey area by car so that's always an option. There are certainly a couple of runs in your area also(of the cruisey kind with the odd weird and the occasional death trap weir).

    I'm not from Portarlington so wouldn't know what the paddling community is like there.

    TrueFitness are based in Portarlington, they're a commercial operation rather than a club who do kayaking outings.
    Tullamore have a very active canoe club www.tucc.ie but their website seems to be down at the moment.
    Newbridge http://www.newbridgekayakclub.com and Athy also have clubs.

    Talk to any of these clubs who might be able to give you more info or contact the ICU at www.canoe.ie
