Would you attend a 'singles' night?

Just curious to see how popular these are. Knowing internet dating is very popular. Heard they were quite popular a few years ago.

A themed night where single people goto a pub/function room, potentially meet someone, but either way have fun... pertake in ice breaking games, have a laugh.

So would you attend a singles night?

I wouldn't go to one of them again, I went to one once and there was a bit of a misunderstanding. I thought singles night meant we were all meeting up to eat Easi Singles, so I brought lots of bread with me. When I tried to explain, some brute punched me in the face and threw my bread into a toilet I didn't have enough money to buy another sliced pan the next day so instead of bread I had to use these old crackers with mould on them. The mould made me very sick and I had to sell all my clothes to pay for a taxi to a hospital. For a while after that I didn't have any clothes to wear. I tried painting on a pair of trousers but it didn't look realistic.

No weirder than asking people if they'd go to a singles night.

If I was single, I wouldn't discount any means of meeting new people - no mater how others viewed it.

If you attend these things, why wouldn't other equally worthwhile people?

Fuck that - life's too short to worry about what other people think.

Haven't gone, I know a girl that has, she said it's usually more women than men. Women in their 30's with a strange combination of desperation and an ideal of the perfect man that just doesn't exist. Men lacking in social skills, drinking too much and trying to chat up every woman in the place like it's a nightclub at 2.30am. Then most people head off alone, disappointed and a little more dead inside.

That's what I've been told anyway. What I have done is check out what pub speed dating events are in, then I turn up with some single friends just after it finishes. The number of single women in the pub is then much higher than average.:D You've got to play the percentages!;)

Yes, I would go to and have been to a singles event.
Hey don't knock it till you try it. It's tough these days to meet people so it's a great way to do so. I tried online dating before but meet a few potential stalkers but that's a whole other story!!
I went to Singles Wine Tasting last month and it was really good fun. It attracts a really nice crowd, no smell of desperation in the air if you know what I mean!
Planning on going to a Singles Dinner & Cruise (Dinner Dating) with the same company this weekend, but I would definitely recommend the singles wine tasting, I'm not really into wine but it was still great craic.

I think that post is the perfect combination between genius and rapey. There's a fine line you know.

There would be something very cheesy about going to a singles night, the women would be too easy.

    Interesting poll results so far.

    Seems pretty much 50/50.
