When I turned on my itunes at the weekend, all songs, apps, videos and photos had disappeared. It started up as if it was my first time opening it itunes and it was completely blank. We have managed to get most of the songs back but I don't know what to do with the Apps, Video's etc When I tried to connect my itouch it said that it was linked to another account and wanted to sync which would have meant that it would have cleared it as I had nothing in my account. I'm not sure what to do.
What and Why did it happen?
    Where is everything gone?
    What should I do?

I haven't done any download recently either incase that might have caused it.

Thanks for reading and hopefully someone can help

Check that iTunes is is pointing to the correct xml file for your library. Should be somewhere under the preferences.

iTunes usually stores the library under Music in your home folder. Have a look there to make sure you haven't moved or deleted this folder.

Thanks Jester, I've managed to get most of my music back. Do you have any idea about getting my apps etc back.
Any idea why it happened?? :(

There should be a folder called Mobile Applications in the Music/iTunes Media folder. Just drag and drop the ipa files back into iTunes.
