I would make a Boards TV channel, have each forum come up with ideas of what to put in a half hour slot to help the people of Ireland.

For example, the cooking club forum could demonstrate the weekly recipe for a slot. The motors forum could give their tips and advice on motor maintenance and safety and what car to buy. The games forum could do try outs, reviews and recommendations etc. The ideas could be endless.

Clients who pay for advertising on boards could get the advertising slots between shows.

Sky Packages:

A shopping channel dedicated to selling over priced packages. Euro equivalent of sterling priced items would be hugely more expensive. Also I'd add a premium for packages that are wrapped in super quality, crystal clear packaging.

I'd have the "Bail Out Channel"! We could just go on & on about how much money we owe & have a running total 24/7.

The Charlie Sheen channel. A channel where the comedian rants, gives advice and gives tutorials how we too can start "Winning".

Breaking Bad & The Wire re-runs 24/7

A youth/schools channel where youth clubs & classes in schools can broadcast the films/documentaries that they film within their community. The likes of the Trinity School Completion Programme do fantastic work with schools but it's rare that the films they record actually get broadcast, if ever.

It would encourage youth to take an interest in their community and showing it in a good light. It offers them an opportunity to learn a new skill which they will have for life and the wider audience may learn something new about different areas of the country.

Just a thought!

Lifestyle programming... some fashion, some interior design stuff, gardening, cooking, gossip, and lots of re-runs of fashion police!

My channel would combine quality drama, science-based documentaries, entertainment and movies. No age criteria. Material could be old or new.

Typical material might include;


-Horizon
-The West Wing
-Any Brian Cox series
-BSG
-Biographies
-Dr. Who
-The Wire
-Game of Thrones

And the like.

Series would be run in 3 episode blocks equivalent to a typical movie duration and in specific timeslots and would run each day until complete (no waiting from week to week for episodes).

There would be a 'guilty pleasure' slot nightly where select (better) episodes of old shows from the 80s would run. eg McGyver, The A-Team, Greatest American Hero etc.

The channel would integrate tightly with the viewing platform and support the following features;

-Follow me viewing using networked receivers: Start watching live or timeshifted content in one room, move to another room with a different tuner but continue watching where I left off

-More like this: if I like particular content, the system can recommend similar content, possible from crowdsourced database. Voting for broadcast of this new content will feed into channel scheduling for future!

-Recommend to a friend: All me interact with friends while watching, suggesting shows friends might like.

The channel would be ad-free. I wouldn't mind subscribing.

A musicals channel, showing all types of musicals - classic, modern, live, amateur performances and musical episodes from tv shows. Also documentaries about the making of, stars of musicals, behind the scenes. intertwined with singing and dance class tv series, and reruns of dancing with the stars, dancing on ice, how do you solve a problem like maria? etc..

I would have a channel which follows a person throughout their working day, it would be entertaining and would also provide career advice for young people

my channel would be 3D Female mud wrestling.....could you imagine all those bikini clad models in 3D

A channel that shows only animated shows for grown ups. King of The Hill and stuff like that (sorry, NO Simpsons! too saturated) before the watershed, Ren and Stimpy, Drawn Together, Venture Bros, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Happy Tree Friends etc. later on. Regular Anime slots (Dragonball Z Kai). Get the Marvel/DC OVAs, Akira. Tickle nostalgia with Transformers movie.

The shows have to be shown in order, none of this jumping around in series, even if the episodes are stand-alone.

There was an Anime channel that showed some decent shows but it just disappeared, so maybe a mix of different animation styles might be a winner.

Technology / Gadget channel with a focus on where the items can be purchased at their lowest price.

if it was my channel, with what i want on it, it would consist of all my favourite crime shows. so the csi franchise, the ncis franchise, criminal minds, without a trace (cancelled i know), cold case (also cancelled), oldies such as inspector morse, a touch of frost etc. everything crime showy that i love all in one place.

i would never leave the couch again!!! oh the heaven

If I had my own channel on Sky, I would show 3D content 24/7.

I would have a music channel dedicated to showing entire concerts from all around the world, either live, or shown a short time after, as some people may not be able to go to such locations, or have the money to see them live in person.

Mine would be a Good News Channel!

Like Sky News but only focus on good / positive news stories form around Ireland, down to very basic of stories.

I haven't seen a good news story in the media in months.

A Condensed Info Channel !! Its aim would be to quick and to the point news, reviews and opinions. Like the new english paper "i" . It could have news in brief, interviews, reviews of gadgets and tech and other review shows on cars, services, sports etc
